Well, my Wii U gets played A LOT. Right now it's one of my favorite consoles along with the SNES and Gamecube. I also have a lot of unplayed games waiting to be played so I haven't had enough time to complain how "little" is its library

It's great that you finally got one!

Check out my super awesome Super Mario Maker levels.

@Freeon-Leon: To be honest I've had the console for about a year now but with moving house and life in general getting in the way I've only just plugged it back in but its a great machine. One of the reasons i like playing the machine is because it doesn't have the stupid trophies/achievements system like the other consoles its just put the game in and play it none of this clutter and trophy percentage etc.

Not once have I regretted continuing my Nintendo patronage into the Wii U era. Even if the software library is not as strong as the Wii library, it's still a lot better than the alternatives. Quality over quantity! Even with a limited library, I don't have time to play all the games I buy. It's usually the exclusives that get the most play time whereas the multi-platform games more often collect dust on the shelf (except Rayman Legends and Darksiders 2, loved those!)

Now that Xenoblade is out, I've notified my family that they can't reach me until some time in February.

@James87:
Splatoon pretty much made the Wii U for me!

I mostly bought one just so I could have one when the new Zelda game comes out, but I've found a few gems in the meantime. Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8, Hyrule Warriors, just to name the ones I've played. The new Starfox game looks awesome, looking forward to that too.

yeah i have a bit of lifestyle getting in the way of playing my Wii U, but also other games! that will change when i pick up Xenoblade X in a couple of days and move my big screen into the bedroom where i will put many hours in and also take a break with other games i haven't played yet, such as Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze and Mass Effect 3 and a little Mario Maker ^__^

The Wii U is easily my favorite console of this generation, and I own all three! It gets the most playtime, and the game are just the highest quality and have so much to come back to. I can't tell you how many times my fiancé will be watching something and I can just play some Mario Maker on the gamepad, or even if I have a football game on and just want to play some Mario Kart in the background. It's awesome.

And once I get Yoshi and Xenoblade over the holidays... I'm looking forward to a pretty solid couple weeks of gaming. And then Star Fox in the new year!

My WiiU has been my main console since I bought it. Too many games to play on it, I almost can't keep up sometimes between disk and download games. The complaints confuse me because these are some of the best games Nintendo has done in years, and the virtual console, while lacking some that the Wii had, has a lot of stuff that's better than the Wii had. The Wii ended up being my least favorite Nintendo console ever but the WiiU somehow redeemed that, probably the controllers helped out a lot.

Yup. Wii U is still my main console, even though I've been playing Xbox One as of late.
I went back to Monster Hunter the other day, which is still good game, and I have a ton of 3rd party games practically waiting for me that I never completed and/or could use another play through.
I never even touched Darksiders 2 and the Wii U version still matters if Wii U is the only console you own, plus it was $8 instead of $50 or however much the Xbox One version costs.

I'd say Xenoblade still matters more than Witcher 3, as well, but that's just my preference.

I enjoyed Monster Hunter on the wii but the only downside was I couldn't find anyone to team up with regularly to do quests - is there still a lot of people online on the Wii U to make it worth getting?

I bought mine on impulse in April 2013. Truly love it. It got me back into gaming after 20 years of essentially not playing games. There have been some dry patches- I picked up a 3ds later that year b/c not all that much was coming out. And then in August of 2014 I got an XBone. But I always come back to my Wii U.

I went to Target yesterday and they had a special display for Nintendo- I thought, "Now would be such a good time to buy a Wii U...." As has been mentioned, while the library is small, it's a very good one. I have several hundred hours logged on mine, more if you count Netflix, Amazon and browsing, tho I don't really use it for internet much anymore. I'll play mine for years to come and might even pick up another one as they are phased out so that I can have a back up.

There's at least a couple hundred, sometimes more. I haven't been on in a while, and the main reason why I don't play, is because I completed most of the quests and everyone usually wants to do a different quest. Everyone was quitting and hardly playing, either, so it depends on who you run into.

I would still say the game is worth getting for the offline mode anyway, though. I spent 90 hours or so on that alone, then I went online.

Cheers mate. The only reason I haven't got it yet is because I'm not sure id have the spare time to play it! Played it on the Wii for ages and still only scraped the surface

I'm pretty pleased with my Wii U too. I've played on it more than the PS4 so far.

The Wii U and 3DS are both some of my favourite consoles of all time. Probably just behind the SNES and PS2.

With Xenoblade offering 200 hours odd and then Star Fox, Twilight Princess HD and Zelda U on the way, it'll have a hell of a good library for a failed console by the end of the year.

It's dangerous to go alone! Stay at home.

aozz101x

i had my Wii U since December 2012.
the first few games that i got for the console was. Nintendo Land, New Super Mario Bros U, and Zombie U, then Lego City Undercover is what got me play the console more. until Mario Kart 8 came out, along with Game & Wario and Super Mario 3D World.
what kept me playing the console more then Lego City, was Mario Kart 8, Splatoon, Blocky Bot, and Xenoblade X (im still planning on getting Smash Bros next year.)

@Dezzy: I haven't really played much Zelda, so Twilight Princess will be new to me.

What's interesting is that I am the target demographic for the Wii U. There should be a decent number of people in their late 30s-mid 40s. Grew up on video games. Quit playing for a while- maybe have a family now and Nintendo characters are what they remember. The Wii U is the perfect console for those types of people.
