I thought I would report this as I'm not sure if this is happening over a wider area, if it is I'm sure nintendo life will post another doom story about nintendo so I thought I'd beat them to it.
So anyway I just went into my local HMV to see if they had any cheap games, I couldn't find any Nintendo games anywhere, I asked a girl who worked there and she said "We no longer sell them as we don't make any money from them"
It's another worrying example of nintendo failing again in the U.K, I then walked into GAME to see a mum buying a PS4 for her 6 year old , now correct me if im wrong and I hate to use the term kiddie when it comes to nintendo but are there that many 6 year old friendly games on PS4? Surely a nintendo console would be the better choice for a 6 year old but maybe that's the dad in me as I have a 6 year old.
I hate to say it but it's not looking great for Nintendo, well in the U.K anyway
Such a shame really

If it were just Wii U games, this might make a little more sense, but 3DS too?! That just sounds very odd to me in a way.

Do u mean all video games as mine still had plentiful xbox and playstation games
Yep, all videogames. However, my HMV is in a mall which also contains an EB Games (Gamestop).
On the HMV Canada website, it doesn't look like any of our HMVs carry videogames though.
I think he problem with HMV is there prices are horrendous and that's why people including my self do not buy stuff there unless they have a good sale on

So it isn't No More Nintendo, it is HMV not selling games anymore or selling them over priced.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
@Moorpheel HMV stands for His Masters Voice and is a chain of shops in the UK that started out selling music before moving into films and games. They were rescued from bankruptcy last year.
In my local store their game section was never that big and in my opinion have struggled to compete with speacialist game stores and online retailers. If Game stop selling Nintendo games then that might be a cause for concern but I cannot see that happening.
From what I've seen in the HMVs near me they're slowly phasing out games all together. The gaming sections there are much smaller than what they were a year ago, and now all of them except from one are only selling 360, Xbone, PS3 and PS4 games, and I expect they'll get rid of last-gen consoles and games by the end of the year.
Don't worry too much about it. Some smaller stores in Germany stopped stocking WiiU games too, because most of them overestimated the Next-Gen hype.
Right now, none of the three big home consoles offer anything that could be considered a system seller, and as such, smaller stores have problems selling their stuff, but overstocked XBone/PS4 games because of the exceptional launch. The WiiU didn't have a good start, and also doesn't have a true system seller, either - some might consider SM3DW one, but that's debatable, since the big rise didn't come along yet.
Taking that into account, it's not surprising to see stores rushing their decisions and getting rid of the worst-selling stuff quickly before nobody wants that anymore. Though, that doesn't mean it's a smart decision, and some of them might regret their decisions soon (MK8 is the closest potential system seller, giving the WiiU a last chance without much competition from games on competing systems).
I noticed that my local HMV stopped selling Nintendo games a few weeks back, yet I can pick up mii's from the streetpass relay there.
Tbh though, I can HMV will probably get rid of most of their stores and just rely on the big inner city shops with the online store. It's online shopping and digital downloads that are kicking their butts, and there's not much that can really be done about it.
The HMV store in the mall in our area used to be big room and now it is switched over to small room. They started selling clothes and got rid of a lot of stuffs. They don't sell games anymore and they also don't have variety of music anymore at least in my area.
@Haywired: Well I think the parents want the console as well. I know a lot of parents who bought their kids a Xbox One or PS4 to play CoD or other mainstream games. They don't mind their kids playing CoD as well.
@Super_Gravy Oh yeah, if it's for the whole family then fair enough, but a PS4 (or any £400 multimedia centre) exclusively for a 6 year old seems ridiculous.
