@NintendoFan64: Pokemon is probably a better use for the amiibo cards haha. If they did a line of figures, they'd probably only do a collection of the popular ones... so basically the ones in Smash + Meowth, Blastoise, Gardevoir, etc.
It sucks that those Amiibo characters are only working for the 8bit style. Would've been cool to see the ALBW Link in the NSMBU style.
But there's no ALBW Link amiibo
They're all 8bit characters. Almost none of the Amiibos are based on 8bit versions. Fine, maybe it's stretching their principle a bit. But it would be cool to have full 3D Link, Pit, Shulk etc in there. There'd maybe be some issues with body proportions though.
@sinalefa NO. I'm already spending a lot of money on amiibos as it is. If they did Wario Ware, I'd probably have to get them all.
Oh but that is the life of the amiibo collector. I know, cause I am there too. A small price to pay for the awesomeness of a Warioware amiibo line. And they still owe me a Hyrule Warriors amiibo line too!
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.
@IceClimbers Cards would definitely be better. Heck, there's already Pokemon trading cards, so maybe they could do something like a line of cards that also double as amiibos.
There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...
@sinalefa Now that I think about it, a Wario Ware line would be a bit...random. I mean, Wario Ware is awesome, and an amiibo line of it would be awesome, but it'd just be unexpected. I mean, I'd expect something like Zelda, Pokemon, or Kirby. Though it would be awesome if Nintendo started doing lines of amiibos for franchises outside of those 3, Smash, Mario, Splatoon and Animal Crossing. Heck, they kind of already are with Chibi Robo. Maybe they could even do an Earthbound line!...I CAN DREAM, DAMNIT!
@Dezzy: Well, a full line of 3D characters would surely take a lot of effort. I mean, not only do you have to render the characters in 3D (which is a lot on its own, if you ask me), you have to supply sound effects and whatnot for the characters.
With that said, I'll totally appreciate 3D characters, since I see myself using the NSMBU palette most of the time. I'm thinking it'll be post game DLC or something...
@sinalefa I'm guessing we'll see a WarioWare amiibo line when the next WarioWare game is launched. Hey, maybe it'll be WarioWare: DIY 2, so it'll be in the vein of Mario Maker.
@VeeFlamesNL They already stated that dlc ain't comin'. Or at least there aren't any plans for it. http://nintendoeverything.com/super-mario-maker-devs-on-its-o...
Also, your Wario Ware comment reminds me that we still haven't gotten a Wario Ware game on the 3DS, which makes me sad, especially since I recently played Smooth Moves again when some friends came over.
@NintendoFan64: Well, maybe we won't be seeing Mario Maker DLC soon, but seeing as this game will be one of Wii U's evergreen titles, and Nintendo will be looking to keep players coming back, I think it's safe to say Nintendo won't be ruling out DLC in the... er, more distant future.
@VeeFlamesNL: I think everything in the end regarding this game post-launch depends on Nintendo's NX plans. Of course the usual stuff like NX proper unveiling date, release date, backwards compatibility, is there crossover between the 2 systems around launch, etc.
@Grumblevolcano: Makes sense. Although I was thinking some moments ago... I think Mario Maker will be a platform that will be supported by most future Nintendo systems. No definitive versions, just Mario Maker 2.0, 3.0 and so on spanning across Nintendo systems. This even makes it more likely that we'll be seeing DLC, even if it's not as soon as some people think.
I like how there's different sound effects for the Yarn Yoshi amiibo. The costume for either the Super Mario Yoshi or the Smash Yoshi has Yoshi's Island sound effects.
