Part of me wishes that "next gen" Nintendo copies exactly whatever PlayStation and Xbox put out. No gimmicks and no excuses, just straight up head to head and see what happens. I would bet that the majority of Nintendo fans would still not buy many of 3rd party games that is if the 3rd parties even wanted to try and come back.

To blessed to be stressed.

Alot of that has to do with PS and Xbox fans. Even if Wii U was offering the same experience as Xbox One and PS4, people still wouldn't buy it for the reasons they did for Xbox or PS. It would still go back to the exclusive games.

The biggest reason why people are buying a console, is because of the games; not media. If media is really a deciding factor, than PS4 shouldn't even be in the cards. It has more media than Wii U, but Xbox One has more media than that, even still.

Getting XBone next week. Madden bundle, Ryse and Forza. I'm also getting $70 off through Amazon. For $420, I get the system, plus three games and then also three professional packs for Madden, whatever that is. Eventually want the new Assassins Creed- but will wait awhile- probably until next year. Also possibly interested in the new Lord of the Rings game

Good for- did you just call yourself a renegade for buying a console?

Just so you (and everyone else) know, there's a Sunset Overdrive Bundle, if that's more your thing. Seems like you'll be getting similar deals, unless I'm missing something.

If I get Xbone, and I don't want to pay the monthly subscription, will I still be able to download retail, DLC and "eshop" games?

I believe so, but you won't get any discounts and you won't be able to play online, even if the game is "free-to-play"

People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I like Madden a lot. It sounds like the training mode is pretty cool and thorough in that it teaches you about the game and formations and stuff like that. Oh, and I'm a Spurs fan, so this will be a good year for me to get YK15

That's good for me, because I wouldn't care about the online. But I want to make sure I can download stuff before I buy it.

I normally get both Sony and Nintendo consoles every generation but I've actually been leaning towards the XB1 more than the PS4. I won't get either any time soon so it'll just depend on which has the right price and games later on.

For now, my planned combo for this gen is 3DS/Wii U/Vita.

Most people who like the WiiU, would probably like the PS4. Japanese gaming, and all of that. That's not to say that the XBone is crap, or anything like that. I don't really have an interest in Microsoft's console, but it has some interesting games. I would never get one, though. PC, Nintendo, and Sony are what I like. Just always have.

The PS4 doesn't have a lot of games. I was going to get one this year, until they delayed The Order. Now, I'll probably get one next year. The only thing interesting at this point, to me...is Dragon Age. And, I can get that on PC.

But, 2015 is looking to be a great year for the WiiU. PS4 will come into it's own, but it's still dealing with the same thing the WiiU, and every new console does...delayed games. WiiU is hitting it's stride, while the PS4 is just revving up...it's a nice console, though. You can't go wrong with either one...or both, lol.
