After the last disappointing news for (some) nintendo owners i did it... I jumped the fence and got myself a brand new Ps4...
Being a gamer for long time now, I have developed passion for different types of games... from platforms to adventures, from strategic to action and fighting, from racing sims to space exploration, and, of course, the love & hate for the FPS ones...
The news on Project cars delay for WiiU has been grown bad in me... until the beginning of this week where I finally decided to buy the new sony console... there, between driveclub, Project cars and GT 7, Destiny and others I will have the dudebro in me happy and satisfyied...
First impressions are that the console looks still raw in therm of OS and applications, but hey... the same was for WiiU at the beginning, even if ps4 OS is far more fast than N one....
Good feelings about the games... the eshop there is pretty cheap, full of indie games (many with a lot of Nintendo flavour), by subscribing the plus abo i got instantly 2 games for free (FEZ is amazing) and other 4 free to play games which I am really enjoying playing online....
Here comes the big difference (apart graphic)... I found so many gamers online that waiting times on servers are = 0... voice chat fully integrated almost everywhere (and people don't spend time bitching to each other.... especially in coop games voice chat is really useful and funny....), fast multitasking and easy integration on youtube... what we claimed about mario kart tv is a native feature of the ps4 for every game you play. Many games have cross platform buy and other share the online community with pc users....
All of this, not to say that I showed my back to Nintendo, I will still get all the titles I wanted for WiiU.... but just that, after few days of playing with the ps4, I really realised how much Nintendo is behind in term of gaming and network infrastructure... I really hope this generation will help Nintendo to improve itself.... cos I can't really see any possibility of win the market if they keep going the way they go...
Anyone else did the same as me? How are your feelings after trying the "enemy" (joking here)? Is there anyone here thinking to go with ps4+WiiU for this gen?
I don't view different companies and consoles as enemies, just a different consumer procduct, Personally I'm fine with a PC, 3DS & WiiU. There's nothing exclusive on the Xbone or PS4 I want.
Yep. I have the Wii U, PS4, and 3DS. I'm all good for the next 4 to 5 years in terms of console gaming.
Check out my YouTube channel if you love gaming, and Nintendo (especially Metroid) I think you'll enjoy my videos. :)

Mehm was thinking about getting the ps4 but having had a hands on I found it wasn't for me, i'll sit the coming three years out with the amazing games that we are going to get and then I'll see what I do when 9th gen starts
Everything can change, but I'm never changing who I am
I think I will get a PS4 in the future when it actually has games that justify it's existance, games that take advantage of the consoles power. I don't want one just to play indie games and uprez PS3 games.
Does this mean even when a 3rd Party game does come to Wii U, you will be buying it on PS4?
Thats what I do. I mainly have the Wii U for all first party games like Mario Kart, Smash Bros etc. I am done hoping that third party games will come to the Wii U and if they do hoping they are not an inferior port.

Which means Wii U will continue to have difficulties getting 3rd Party support, because people who have Wii Us still buy them on other systems
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...
What would be really interesting to know is which machine you're going to play on the most. You should keep track of it and update your post this December and tell people if you're you've played more PS4 or WiiU.
Top-10 games I played in 2017: The Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild (WiiU) - Rogue Legacy (PS3) - Fallout 3 (PS3) - Red Dead Redemption (PS3) - Guns of Boom (MP) - Sky Force Reloaded (MP) - ...

Nintendo has difficulties with third parties due to their own fault. Why should I buy an inferior game that I wont be happy with when I can get the better version on another system? Sorry but I am not a fanboy or anything I am a gamer I play games period it doesn't matter to me what system has the better third party support I go where I get the most bang for my buck. If the roles were reverse and Nintendo had the better third party support I would by the games on Wii U but that's not the case.
And for the record I have always been a multisystem guy even back during the 16 bit era I had both a SNES and a Genesis. So yeah don't try your guilt trip junk on me.

I am not saying it is "your fault" but if people buy 3rd Parties on other Systems (especially during the frist month they are out) over buying them on Wii then they are showing 3rd Parties that they shouldn't care about Wii U because you will pay them when they don't support it. It is an endless circle. If people actually bought 3rd Parties on Wii U (over buying them other places) then Wii U would have just as strong 3rd Party support as the other consoles. That is all I am saying. I am not saying that you should always buy 3rd Parties on Wii U so that Nintendo can survive. I personally want more 3rd Party support on Wii U so any 3rd Party game I am interested in that comes to Wii U I try to pick up day 1. If it doesn't come to Wii U I wait for it to be super sheap during a steam sale

I am pretty sure that nothing is going to change in the way third party companies handle games on a Nintendo system unless Nintendo does s major shake up and becomes like Sony or MS. I mean honestly I don't hate Nintendo and I wish that the third party support would get better but that is between Nintendo and the third party companies.

The problem isn't only between Nintendo and 3rd Parties, but also consumers. If 3rd parties don't sell well on Wii U that means customers aren't buying 3rd Parties on Wii U, what can Nintendo do to change that?

I agree with @Tasuki. I own third party games on Wii U that also appeared on PS360, but only games where the Wii U port was not gimped. So basically Rayman Legends, Injustice, Sonic Transformed, Arkham City, NFS MW, and possibly Deus Ex.
For me that would show that Wii U owners buy 3rd party games when the effort is there. Lazy ports will just send the wrong message.
I will comment in this thread, never being able to find it again.

I totally agree with that, but when 3rd Parties put their biggest games on Wii U with slightly more bugs than the other consoles and don't get sales such as Assassin's Creed, Arkham Origins, etc. they see that as Wii U owners not willing to buy their games. 3rd Parties shouldn't treat Wii U as a second class citizen, but also consumers shouldn't treat 3rd Parties on Wii U as an after though either. The relationship goes both ways and both sides are waiting for the respect they deserve, so they keep pulling back as the other side treats them worst which leads to zero support (or close to it). It is like a fight with your significant other. You want to feel like you are being heard but they disagree with you so it seems like they aren't listening. All that needs to happen is both side need to take a deep breath and start treating each other with respect.
Yeah, I'm going the same route this gen. Love my PS4 to death. I got both at launch, though getting Wii U at launch was a mistake. I'm glad I have one, but launch was too soon and more expensive than waiting to get one. I'm also glad to see you're enjoys your PS4.
I think something else to consider with third-partys, is that the bugs and whatnot for the most probably don't matter for third-party sales, they are probably looking to get sales from people who wouldn't already buy it on PS or Xbox. People who only own a Wii U probably won't not buy a game on Wii U if it has a few extra bugs or is missing a small mode, as that's their only option. If they buy it on another system, then they still get the sale, they just see that the Wii U audience won't make a profit.
Congrats. I have an Xbox One which has even better media and sharing features than PS4 so far(IMO, I guess), but I didn't find it all that impressive. The voice chat and everything was all done last generation on Xbox 360 and PS3. Xbox One and PS4 are actually still catching up to last generation. Xbox One just barely got media streaming via DNLA, and they are improving the communication features all of the time on both consoles.
It depends on how you look at it. I don't really use voice chat, even when it's there, and I only used the record feature once or twice to record being respawn killed so I could potentially talk about how cheap the game was.
Also, I think Wii U still has alot of good games. Everyone always says how Wii U has "no games" or whatever. It just has different games. I've found way more to play on Wii U than Xbox One, TBH. The only games I want on Xbox One right now are Plants vs. Zombies, maybe. Metal Gear Ground Zeroes got knocked down to $15 via deals with gold, but it's still a freaking demo.
