It starts out really easy, and you should be able to get Marin's and Linkle's upgraded weapons without problems (at least the second levels, I got Marin's with her at level 10).
But then it escalates to about Termina/Twilight difficulty.
I was a able to breeze through most of it with level 60 characters and level 3 weapons.
Just play it as you advance though the other maps. If things get too hard, just leave it and get back to it later.
The new 4+ weapons on the other hand, add new elements to the characters.
The weapon won't do more damage than usual, instead the game will decide, on the moment you attack something, what element would do more damage to that enemy, and calculates damage with that.
So, if your normal weapon would've done innefective damage towards a certain element, it will now use the secondary damage to calculate it and do neutral or super effective damage instead. Etc.
I bought the first Season pass on Hyrule Warriors and then last week I bought the Hyrule Legends character pack. But I've held off on the second Season pass as the Wii U DLC pales completely when compared to the 3DS version. Why did they do this? It would have been easy for them to make it for both platforms.
It's really not as easy as it sounds, making these maps available for the WiiU would involve giving you barren, mostly rewardless, grind fests.
The games are more different that people give them credit for.
Could they have offered something more along with the characters? Of course. The costumes at the very least. But they didn't really to make these characters available to begin with.
So I finally finished the Koholint map (as in beat Ganon) and it was fun though I prefer the Termina map (going from Wii U experience). Still, maybe I'd have been more attached if I had actually played Link's Awakening.
Hoping that the next DLC comes either 25th August or 1st September and it'll be nice to see which game they base the Adventure map on.
I haven't checked myself, but it seems the dlc shop on the American version of the game lists the months, and all of them were moved one month earlier.
