Bad news if you're not a New 3DS or New 3DS XL owner, the frame rate is very poor on the standard 3DS models.

Wow that is dipping into 15-20 fps. I wonder if they were required to make it work for the older 3DS systems.

@Grumblevolcano: I had a bad feeling about this. That's why I asked Thomas to review it for both versions.

I have a N3DS so no worries here! I plan to download this day 1.

I also hear that not only the framerate, but the draw distance, amount of enemies that can be on screen at once, and all the textures in general are WAAAY better on a N3DS.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

I'm not surprised, the Warrior games are always watered down on the 3DS.

The Wii U version had its share of framerate dips so I'm not that surprised that the OG 3DS would have problems, even if it is watered down.

Here's a direct comparison between the Old 3DS and New 3DS.

THe framerate for the New 3DS looks to be very close to the WiiU's. Though there doesn't to be a difference in texture quality between the 3DS and new 3DS. I am happy to have a New 3DS XL when I got MM3D then.

Toon Link's sister talking through the pirate's charm for him is clever.

It's confirmed that you get the characters in Wii U version via a redeemable code. In response to a question "How does the 3DS to Wii U stuff work?" this came up:

Shinion

@Grumblevolcano: so you could (theoretically) sell the codes if you only have a 3DS to someone who only has a Wii U? That could become a thing.

Shinion

@Grumblevolcano: well I've got both so it isn't something I'll be partaking in. How many new characters are there again? Toon Link. Tetra, KoRL, Skull Kid and that's it?

@Grumblevolcano: oh damn how could I forget about Linkle!? Hahahahahaha. 5 characters is an interesting amount to have added.

A download code? Yo, Nintendo, ya'll know that your handheld and your console can connect wirelessly, right? Enough with these download codes.

Although, honestly, I'm pretty stoked about it. It's backwards as all get out, but it looks like I'll be off to eBay to buy myself some download codes and get those characters on Wii U.
