I'm a big fan of the Fatal Frame series and one of my biggest disappointments of last gen was that FF4 never made it to NA; so I'm wary of getting too excited over a new installment until localization is confirmed.
I'm planning to play through the first 3 games again soon (I have the PS2 versions on PSN) and Spirit Camera too. That's bound to make me want more, so I really hope that NOA doesn't disappoint me again.
Shame NoA never felt motivated to release the Fatal Frame 2 remake. I imported, but would've jumped at the chance to own a local copy.
Makes me skeptical that we'll get this game released in North America either.
It'll get localized. They have so little coming to the system that absolutely anything would be helpful.
If they're willing to localize stuff like Tomodachi Life on the booming 3DS, then they'll put out Fatal Frame on the Wii U.
But wasn't Tomadachi Life selling really well in Japan? I thought that's why they decided to localize it. Then again Spirit Camera was localized, but as far as I know it sold horrible so we may not be lucky this time...
I would pick this up immediately. The Gamepad is a perfect fit for use as the camera. You won't see many things on the screen then raise the gamepad and see the ghosts.
I've always been interested in playing the series. Well, time to take a little trip to my local game store to see if they have any of the games, because I want to know why is it good.

If you have a PS3, all 3 PS2 games are on PSN for $9.99 each.
So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.
Looks very good an I love how they differentiate the M-rated games with a darker box design. In fact, I wouldn't mind if this was the default Wii U colours. They did it also with some Wii games on black boxes.
After the Xenoblade sequel this is my most wanted Wii U release. Still don't expect that it will come out in North America though. We didn't get either Wii game, and the 3DS game was a horrible spin-off that sold poorly so I'm not at all confident we'll get Black Haired Shrine Maiden.

Agreed that case/color scheme looks so much better.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
Looks like FF X CGI, I don't care much for it at all. Also haven't played much of the series, so is there any particular reason all the main characters in these games are women, is it like a japanese priestess who's in tune with ghosts kinda thing or they just use women cuz they want to?
The cat's the only cat who knows where it's at.

@mamp I'm not too sure but I vaguely remember this series is always about twin sisters. Fatal Frame/ Project Zero are one of the best written horror game you can play. I tried the previous tittles but never got into it because I was a scared. Now after all these years of toughness training, I'm prepared to get myself into this franchise with the new Wii U game. If it ever gets released in the NA of course, or Iwata decides to finally ditch region locks.
