@DudeSean I'm with everyone else on this one. I knew immediately that I needed to hide. One death from not knowing the wave was coming, and I didn't have any more trouble with it. If you hide behind something, you WILL be safe, regardless of whether or not it crumbles, so the only complaint I can see left is that you hid behind something, but your hitbox was slightly outside of it and it hit you, anyways.

Oh wait, I got this! All these levels where there is complaint about trial and error is due to the fact that the obstacles one shot KO you and send you back real far. No one complains about, say, the jumping sharks because they only chunk out one heart.

But the Kongs were one-hit-point wonders in the original games...

Point taken, but if you had both Kongs then you can take 2 hits. Doesn't matter if you have Diddy and DK in the cases I'm referring to, an auto one-hit KO.

I would have never guessed Weezing was so useful until I played a HeartGold Nuzlocke!

But those were extremely rare, in that game.

I'm quite surprised they haven't released a limited edition console/bundle for this game.

Tbh I think this is going to be a good seller for people who own the system but I'm not sure its going to be a huge system seller, hence the lack of a bundle :/

Does anyone know if you must be DK all the time, for example could you be Dixie & Diddy or must it always DK and one of the others?

I'm sure it'll sell a few systems (Mario 3D World lacked a bundle and still contributed to a fair share of systems sold last December) but they're probably waiting for Mario Kart before they plop down more bundles on the market.

On Hard Mode you can choose to play as any Kong you like since you go without a partner, or so I've heard.

Just ordered my copy. Hopefully I'll get it on friday!

Can't wait!!

EDIT:
I'll just mention that I never had any issues with Tidal Terror in DKC:R. I beat that level on the first try. There's a clear visual distinction between destructible rock walls and normal rock walls and obvious that you have to duck when you're at the small walls, IMO.

Looking forward to: No More Heroes: Travis Strikes Again

Already preordered. Got it cheap (34€) so it's a very good find. Friday can't come soon enough, this game will probably suck me right in. Just like Returns did.

Dunno how I feel.

From the reviews I've read so far the consensus seems to be this:

  • Visuals are top notch.
  • The minecart levels and boss fights are the game's highlights, aside from that it's more of the same.
  • It gets mighty difficult after the first world.
  • The Kong's abilities don't offer enough variety to be notable.
  • GamePad usage is minimal.
  • Multiplayer could use some improvement.

Fantastic review from the brilliant gamexplain. I am so stoked now, not that I wasn't before

Reviews are pretty on the money so far, Gamespot's is a little harsh, but I can see some people agreeing with those views.

I'll trust a Nintendo Life or even a Gameinformer review before I trust a Gamespot review. If you don't want the game because it's not Metroid or a new Star Fox or w.e. , it's your loss.
