Topic: Does the Nintendo Switch Wired LAN Adapter work with the Wii U?

Hi there,

Does anyone know if the Hori brand Nintendo Switch Wired LAN Adapter will work with a PAL Wii U? I never had a Wii LAN adapter, and the easiest way of picking up such an adapter would be the Switch one for me right now, but I couldn't find any official confirmation whether or not it would actually work on a Wii U.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Should do, it's just a LAN adaptor... also, don't buy that anyway, just get a normal LAN adaptor that's not licensed by Nintendo, their normal non exclusive Nintendo products are overpriced.

I have the Nintendo LAN adapter for the Switch and it works on the Wii U as well.

Yes it does, I also use it on the Wii U. I switched the Wii to wireless and put the adapter in the Wii U, and it works just fine.

I just bought the HORI one for the switch and it does not work on my Wii u , also bought a insignia one and it does not work neither any suggestions? Thanks

@Angelrosillo95 Either just switch to wifi, since the Wii U doesn't download that much data anyway, or buy a Wii LAN adapter, which is also compatible with the Wii U. And it doesn't even have to be the Wii LAN adapter: the one mentioned in comment #2 should work just fine as well.
