I don't really see it, but if it meant they could make Club Nintendo operate as well as Disney Movie Rewards it would be worth it just for that.

I know most people on here will hate this idea as they'd consider it to be Nintendo failing, but I think it could be pretty awesome. I'm pretty sure they'd let Nintendo get on with the making games side of things, as they have no interest in doing that themselves, but we'd end up with far better marketing, a much better range of Nintendo toys, and it's probably the only way we'll get a Nintendo theme park, even if it is just a section of Disney World.

And then we could see an utterly amazing Kingdom Hearts game spanning the worlds of Square-Enix, Disney, Marvel, Star Wars and Nintendo

Not happening, and not even slightly necessary - Disney is in bigger need of "saving" right now. If anything, Disney buying Nintendo would ruin Nintendo.
They're doing well, even if not quite as well as in the days of the Wii.

This would kill Nintendo and their identity. And would kill their consoles and Disney would let other developers make the Nintendo IP games.
Just look at what happened to LucasArts.

Nintendo can have a loss of 250.000.000$ each year from now on and will still survive until 2075!! Wow!
Translation: No one is going to buy out Nintendo (until 2076).

Microsoft couldn't do it when Nintendo was "struggling" with the Gamecube
and Disney can't do it now that Nintendo is "struggling" with the Wii U.

Who's gonna try next?

Nintendo does not even need saving.

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

If anything Nintendo saves itself. Again and again.

I like the idea of pixar having a crack at making CGI movies based on franchises like metroid but there are too many cultural clashes between Disney and NIntendo. However the thing I would like the least about such a deal (if it were to ever be remotely possible) is Disney would cease the production of Nintendo consoles immediately. They would happily leave that part of the business to Sony and Microsoft as there isn't a lot of money these days in the hardware side of the business. So not only would Disney merchandise Nintendo's classic characters and make tv shows and movies about them up the wazoo but Nintendo games would start appearing on playstation and xbox and PC. I don't mind the idea of disney characters appearing in smash bros but NIntendo games on playstation and xbox would be incredibly uncool because that is not where Mario and the rest belong.

Wait. What? Sorry that's wrong.

Wait. What? Hmmm still seems wrong.

Contrary to what the people on the net tell you, Ninty does not need saving. They have vital problems that need immediate fixing for a healthier future, but no.

I think it would be a good fit but while Disney has been pretty not evil with their recent ownership of all entertainment, the idea of Nintendo being owned by a different company is worrisome. Also, I doubt any company of that size would want to release major game titles on less consoles (read: Nintendo hardware would be over, and thus console gaming would be entirely boring)

Disney can easily make a licensing deal with Nintendo if they so felt like it. They're already doing it with Avatar (which is owned by Fox) and did with Star Wars and Indiana Jones decades before they bought Lucasfilm. They even tried with Harry Potter but JK Rowling didn't agree with their terms so it went to Universal instead.

Also you guys do know Disney buying Nintendo wouldn't indicate needing saving. Most companies buy other successful companies when they bought Star Wars and Marvel both brands and companies had been doing very well and served a niche Disney wanted.

Hi. Uh, quick question: Remember what happened to Junction Point and Lucas Arts?

There is nothing here...except for the stuff I just typed...

Junction Point screwed themselves over with awful quality.

LucasArts stopped being relevant recently

Remember what happened to ABC, Pixar, Marvel, etc.?
