Then post in a thread designed to capture those brands that didn't make the Wii U's extensive list - like I did - and you never know where help will come from - like one of the members of the team that contributed to the Wii U's TV remote app.
Just keep the thread free of 'mine works' and 'you should have bought a....' comments and it'll be useful.
Anybody in Australia, New Zealand, or the UK with a:
Kogan 32" LED TV, model KHLED32XXXYB
select from the TV remote menu:
Brand: CMX
Remote code# : 2
For all other Kogan models, try the range of CMX codes first then post here if you still have no luck and we'll see what happens.
Any other unlisted HD TV brands are welcome to post for assistance but please also state which country you reside in.

"Elemis" (16:9, PAL) - not a HD tv but would be nice to use the GamePad on it until I have a new HDtv.
Does anyone know which setting I could try or a site that could help out?
I started the thread over on the Vooks forum originally and thought having a similar on here might help a few people out without having to register with a new forum.
If this one sinks through lack of interest it might be worth heading over that way but I'd hoped it'd rate a little better than the 'Wii U is doomed' crap that seems to be pervasive in every second thread and posted by the usual suspects, at the moment.

You probably have so forgive me, but have you tried emailing Nintendo's customer service with this question? It would be interesting to see if they give a solution. If you already have, what did they say about it? I'm sure those of us with older hdtvs would be interested in their response too.
I'm in Australia, and I've had no luck with the TV function on my Wii U. First, I tried programming it through my Foxtel satellite box (with a Phillips remote).
Secondly, I tried to do it through my 42' Sanyo. Alas, to no avail...
So Foxtel cable doesn't work either? Damn. I've got a Soniq 42" HDTV, model number: QSP425T but when I choose Soniq from the list & test the "volume" & "input" buttons, nothing happens Any ideas?
I have a 40" Sanyo 40xr10f(B) which I've tried all 28 Sanyp inputs with twice to no avail. Seeing a few conplaints of a few different Sanyo models not working so far :/. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
