@Platina If you've ever played the original, then it doesn't really deserve the title of 'Best Game' on the Wii U. It's all old gameplay that we've seen before with updated graphics and a few other minor new features. However, even I played the HD remake before playing the original, and while it's obvious which I preferred, it didn't wow me like games such as Xenoblade Chronicles X and Super Mario Maker have done.
I'm surprised to see the lack of The Wind Waker HD on most lists, or is it disqualified because it's a remake?
Yeah pretty much. It'd be in my top 5 games for this console just as it is but I think most of that credit needs to go to the gamecube original rather than this version. This is a great version though. One of my favourite remasters!
@gcunit, not sure what to respond, but TMS is a very very enjoyable game. Story could been a tad better but its good enough. Fun gameplay, cool characters, great music, nice cutscenes.
@gcunit Of course I know its not MK8, I own that game too
Its a great game for sure, and my favorite Mario Kart, but racing is not one of my favorite genres, and I prefer F-zero over Mario Kart
I can relate with your backlog, I feel like that too. Several games yet to buy, and a few games I barely started...
But to go on-topic, in addition to TMS, I also really like Star Fox Zero despite its unpopularity, Captain Toad, Hyrule Warriors and Super Mario 3D world.
DKC: Tropical Freeze...........I don't see what the deal is. I know it's a great platformer for it's design, gameplay, and bosses, but nothing really blew me away about it. To be clear, I have played through it, and did enjoy it. The one 2d platforming game that blew me away is Freedom Planet. That's just me though.
Platforming perfection. Everything is right, the physics, the weight of DK, the difficulty, the level design and mechanics, and an awesome OST by David Wise. Won't get much better than that.
