Taiko no tatsujin (in part because they are import games, but nobody I know got the NA version either), most of the Cave shooters (none of my friends play shumups only FPS games), and it feels like it at least muramasa (which ive played in both japanese and in english on the wii) and Virtua Fighter 5 (all console versions).
Taiko is good for the soul, Hoisa!

Any of the Rush racing games. I love huge ridiculous jumps
I played Rush 2 to DEATH. The LA, Downtown New York, and Las Vegas tracks especially. That game was my childhood racer. I also liked SF Rush but it wasn't as diverse as 2. Rush 2049 wasn't bad either but it's better in Arcade. Played them all on N64.
Ribbit King.
Really indepth detailed cartoon golf game. I played it with my family a few times on GCN, one of the few games anyone ever wanted to play with me who was family haha. I think the fact they changed the rules of golf to make it more fantasy helped keep it less dull than usual golf games. (save mario golf of course)
Tonic Trouble for the N64. Basically a 3D platformer/collectathon created by Michel Ancel with a limbless aubergine (Ed) as the protagonist. If that wasn't enough to catch your attention, Ed also wields some fancy gimmicks such as a bow tie that lets him fly and can even turn into his body-building-self by eating Crunch cereals. Are you sold now?
@clvr: I remember reading up on this game in Nintendo power as a kid. Your description has me more interested than NP ever did. Wasn't Robot: Rocket on Wheels also a platforming collectathon? I'm interested in both, I wonder which one is more worth it.

Silpheed on the Mega CD.Loved that game and at the time ,it looked incredible. It probably doesn't hold up so well today though. An older shoot-em-up that definitely does hold up and I rarely see mentioned is Hellfire.Played it again a couple of years back for the first time in near 20 years and enjoyed it as much as I did then.
Definitely Space Channel 5 at the top. That game was and is one of my absolute favorites of any game. So much time spent on it. I love the characters, the art direction, the gameplay, the music and the humor. Part 2 as well, which I've also played to death. ..I admit it, I even have the GBA game.
Most people saw it as a silly little niche Sega game or just know Ulala from the Sega collabs like Racers and Tennis. The thing that got me was that it was fun, and having fun is why I play video games. But I digress.
This is Zibene999, over and out. Spaaaaace... channel 999!
Zelda series: 9/18 (50%)
Played all FF main games (some more than once! Heh.)
Fan of ZE since the first game's release, summer can't come soon enough!
Favorite Pokemon Gens/Pokemon: 3 & 5, Lumineon
longtime Advance Wars and Animal Crossing fan.
Forsaken on the Nintendo 64! To me that was one of the most underrated games on the system. It's an FPS in a future where machines have taken over Earth, and you can not only move forward, back, and side to side, but up and down as well! And the best part? The narrator's voice is Duke Nukem!
Star Ocean: The Second Story for the PS1 and Star Ocean: Till The End of Time for the PS2. Those are my two favorite games of all-time and are insanely underrated. In fact if memory serves me correctly, Star Ocean: The Second Story failed to sell even 100k copies in North America while Star Ocean: Till The End of Time sold somewhere between 250k and 400k copies in North America. If you find either game with both discs in good condition, do yourself a favor and purchase it, you won't regret it.

I tried playing that game(Part 2) but couldn't get past the first level. It's like the controller had some latency that made it impossible to react in time, especially at the boss fight. Not having a clear onscreen timing display (for an easy mode) also made it harder than it could've been.
Bushido Blade for the PSX. The game was so ahead of its time. No health bars, actual body damage (bandaged up in next fight), potential one hit kills, rewarded for killing "honorably." Truly awesome game. I'm going to go buy Bushido Blade 2 now and just found out there was a third one.
To blessed to be stressed.
80's music makes me feel fabulous.
What Would Duane Do? Rynoggery
@MetalSmasher86: Oh, that was a pretty good one â it was a definitely a multi-weekend rental for teenage me.
For some reason, that reminds me of Hexen on the N64. The idea of a cooperative multiplayer first-person fantasy game is still cool to me. Haven't seen anything like it since.
Just off the top of my head, and thinking of what I've played again recently.
Boktai not many people knew about that one until a couple of years ago.
Kyatto Ninden Teyandee (Samurai Pizza Cats to people in the West) on the Famicom
Muramasa The Demon Blade known more since the Vita version & then Dragon Crown came out
Oh Mummy on the Spectrum +2

Did you play it on PS3? I had that same issue. "LEFT! /left. /.5 seconds go by. There she goes, she did left."
Eventually I got the hang of it and got a few levels in, once you don't know when to press anymore it becomes too hard again, and it wasn't fun and it was a disappointment.
Lol someone said TTYDD
I think even though this forum talks about it but I liked Zero Escape 1 & w but nobody else knows about it. Also I really liked FF6 okay I know it's bad but oh well.
