I know that comparing one company's systems doesnt work well, but if someone is going to start a comparison, its gotta be me.

The NES has got to be the best game console of all time, recovering the gaming crisis of the late 70's. The N64 just has to be in second because almost every game was a no brainer to buy, if you see it- its gotta be great. The Snes has gotta be third because they (as in developers) pushed the console to the limits, with the start of polygon graphics (Star Fox, Stunt Race FX, etc) and the Gamecube is sadly last because it just didnt do much, except up the power and had more analog control.

If you would like to tell me face to face, Skype me, but obviously this is a forum, so we must discuss on here.

For me the SNES is the ultimate Nintendo console... all the fun of the NES with souped up graphics and sound, an excellent controller and the best platform games ever (SMW and SMW2).

my favourite is the N.E,S because it was the first system i played, it had some of the best first and third-party games available and its success paved the way for nintendo to become as successful and well known as a games developer and console manufacturer.

2nd is SNES, 3rd is gameboy, 4th is gamecube, 5th is gameboy advance, 6th is the wii

In my opinion.

SNES will always be legendary. Every series was at its best. The best thing about it though, is that all the games have and are going to continue to age wonderfully. They're timeless. Note : I've never owned an SNES, but I wish I did!

The Gamecube, however, will always be my favorite. Since it was the one I grew up with.

The Nes is indeed viewed as the system that helped the video game industry recover from the gaming crisis .You got the timeline wrong about the gaming crisis though. The gaming crisis was in 1983 and 1984, not the late 1970's. That crisis is matter of known as the video game crash.

The first 3rd party video game publisher Activision didn't publish their first game before 1980. E.T. was not released on the Atari 2600 before 1982. Pac-Man was released in the arcades in 1980, and that meant the 2600 version was not released in the 1970's either. The 3rd things I mentioned is stuff that people blamed for the video game crash of 1983-1984.

The other thing to look at is the arcades were really thriving in the late 1970's due to games like Space Invaders. When 1983/1984 came along, the arcade industry was slowing down some. The Video game industry in the late 1970's was not big compare to the 1982 time period for game consoles.

Sorry for me Snes is a no brainer! It would be a tie between nes and N64 for 2nd, too close to call. Nes was more successful but I love the N64's exclusives too much.

It's Wario time Yaahhhhhhhhhhhhh!

It's hard to imagine any video game system, however powerful, ever topping Super NES as my all-time favorite console. All these generations later, most of my favorite games are SNES games. Back in the days when gameplay was king! The day fancy 3D graphics started to take priority over everything else was the day gaming started into decline, IMO. I'd probably be infinitely happier with the last 15 or so years of games if most of them had "demakes!"

By the way, one of the big problems after 2004 has been that every game system has to have a friggin gimmick. Touch screen, motion controls, 3D, 1 million 80 P, AR, tablets, social gaming, etc. Stuff that companies put focus on that half the time don't add anything substantial to gameplay, and players stop using after the novelty has worn off (one advance I do love is wireless controls as the norm ). I saw an article that pointed out the lack of Kinect titles at E3 (though there was pretty much a lack of everything at Yawn3 2012). I wonder why. A lot of people, like myself and I imagine many of you, simply care about great gameplay. DROP THE GIMMICKS AND JUST PUT A DAMN CONTROLLER IN MY HANDS ALREADY!!! (glad I'm in the Retro section, where I can make such statements without much bravery )

Well, they gotta give us a reason to not keep playing the consoles we already own.

4. NES
3. SNES
2. N64
1. Gamecube
I love my gamecube. If u included the Wii, it'd be around 3 or 4. I wish the Wii U can have games on the level of th Gamecubes, because to me it is Melee>Brawl, Thousand year door>Super PM, and MKDD>MK Wii (the second worst MK)
