Last I checked, the Wii U was a next gen system.

Last I checked, you were right.

Just for you.

Alll I know we better not see Left for dead 3 or Portal 3 before Half-life 3.

I feel the exact opposite. I would love to see Left for Dead 3. At least they're releasing some more DLC "soon".

Yeah, but that's in Valve Time, so probably not til the end of the year.

The best strategy in the game: go up stairs and pause balls.

I think there aren't enough colorful games from big name companies. Sure, there are few from companies like Nintendo, Ubisoft (Rayman Origins), and Sega (Sonic Generations) but there aren't enough. Back in the 90's there were a large number of great colorful games which were moderately challenging and fun. I play video games to temporarily take a break from the real world, and I don't want to break from the real world by playing a game that looks like the real world. I like my books and movies to be realistic, but I play games to be absorbed in a more fanciful world.

Two words: Digital Downloads. You got all the colorful games you could possibly ask for on XBLA, PSN, and even quite a few on Wiiware. Also, who needs big name companies? Smaller companies can do a far better job at those kind of games than big names these days.

There are quite a few big colorful games out there. Borderlands, Amulur, Bastion, Limbo(ok maybe not, but it's not realistic) Ratchet and Clank, the Capcom fighting games, Telltale, Rage, Skylanders, Shattered Dimensions, LittleBigPlanet and my all time favorite, Sly.

Please tell me you're kidding about Rage.

And yeah, the new Sly Cooper's gonna be great. I can't wait to play it.

Well it's not colorful, but it has a very neat style. Not just in the graphics, but in the characters as well.

He was talking specifically about colorful games, though. Still seems weird to bring it up as an example for colorful games that do exist this gen.
