@Waffles It's literally been that long. lol I haven't played Black Ops with you guys for the longest time and I can't wait to get back on since it's going to feel like a new game with all four map packs.
@Retro We honestly don't know as of yet but I'm assuming you will since it is sort of a direct sequel.
Just for you. "I'm just a musical prostitute, my dear." - Freddie Mercury
MW3's offline is one of the best out there. If you know the storyline or even simply love endless action, you have to play it. I bought it on release and beat the campaign 100% on veteran in less than eight hours with 60% of the trophies done in one day. Spec Ops is even funner with a friend because... well I'm not going to spoil it for you but yeah.
Survival mode is a poor man's Zombies. It's not exciting or fun. The only reason people would still be playing this, is for trophies or if you have a sibling. And the multiplayer is godawful. Lag compensation is everywhere and by that, I mean it lags all the time at the worst moments. The gun balance is terrible, the customization is everywhere and the maps... are the worst in the series. Dark, ugly, small maps that take the fun out of the equation. Every corner you can die and the anti-camping layouts MW2 and Blops featured is out the window. Black Op's maps are a godsend compared to that garbage and IMHO, out of the 16 available maps, 3 of them I like. The best MW3 map is the worst Blops map.
So it depends. Truthfully, no, you're not missing out on anything but in the future when MW3 is around $25, buy it for the offline and Spec Ops because it's really, really fun. That or borrow it from a friend. lol
Apparently, David Goyer is writing the storyline for Black Ops 2. You know, the guy who wrote Batman Begins and The Dark Knight? Yeah I'm sold.
What? Really? Huh.
Ok, maybe this is the return of greatness for this series. Unlike most of the blatant fanboys (one way or the other), I used to really like CoD (I liked Call of Duty before it was cool!! hipster) but it became so stupid and the level design bored me to tears with MW2 (that early snow level aside). I hated MW2's storyline, it's the first game where I felt my intelligence was insulted. And I've played MGS2. So this is a great sign.
My brother has gotten the last 2 games so I might have to play Black Ops 1 now (which I heard was the good game between the stupid MW sequels).
But MW2 was 19080s action movie just under a 2000s backdrop.
things I've largely never been a fan of: 1980s action movies. I know since it's the 80s I'm supposed to like it by default but they usually just annoy and bore me.
So anyone play marvel ultimate alliance 2 and what are your thoughts? Was in the mood for diablo clone and I have fond memories of the first one.
I don't have it, but from what I hear it's pretty much the same as the first one which I did play. The first one was a pretty good Beat-em-up. I would only really recommend it if you like Marvel and have a friend to play with. I didn't like playing the game on my own that much, but playing with other people was a blast. Like other beat-em-ups it is a button masher, but at least it's an awesome button masher.

@Chrono By the way, I've been wondering about MW3. Did I really miss anything? I feel like I've heard you say it's not as great as most CoD's.
I haven't played the single-player but after playing the multi-player, MW3 is essentially a $60+ expansion pack to MW2 in my opinion. Not worth it. I would still say CoD4 is leaps and bounds better than the two MW sequels in regards to multi-player.
Just popped my PS3 back on after playing my new 360 for a while, and the UI now seems a little dull to me compared to the new 360 one. I thought I might try out some of the themes on the PSN Store to freshen up the place. Anybody got a recommendation?
Enjoyed the Dragons Dogma demo. Looks to be a nice time waster for a while.
Not that Japanese Gundam Theme I got. Can't see nothing with it.
I have a few questions to ask:
Are the Resistance games really any good? The demoes I played were all really bad... Is Killzone 2 worth it after playing Killzone 3? Does Folklore hold up now that there's so many good action-adventure and action-RPGs? Same with Eternal Sonata?
