Topic: New Medal of Honor - A Serious Threat to CoD?

I know many people say Call of duty is better than battlefield or that battlefield is the real deal over call of duty, but I think really these 2 games can't be compared because of how different the nature of the actual game is (speaking on multiplayer terms here). However, with this new medal of honor game, which is definitely a VERY similar game to call of duty (especially with this new modern warfare take EA is taking on it), do you guys think this game will be a Call of Duty killer when it comes out? More specifically, a modern warfare killer?

I for one think it could be if EA can get graphics as good as MW2, fix the problems people complain about in mw2 in their own game, and can add some battlefield destructibility into the mix without killing the framerate.

Will it be a MW2 killer? Maybe. I haven't really seen enough of the game in action yet, but I suppose E3 will take care of that. The fact that the new MOH title doesn't take place in WWII is a big help (I like shooting Nazis as much as the next guy, but damn).

I don't think so

Call of Duty's popularity is so ridiculously high now, it's almost impossible for any other game to challenge it.

Medal of Honor has also been slackin' over the past few years so it's name recognition going in to the game's release won't be all that great unless they advertise it to the moon and back.

Slapshot

I have to admit it looks dang good and EA has the money to do it, just keep throwing half ass games under the franchise name. Im hoping this is the series that pushes forward with the loss of MW. Im looking for a release push back so they will put even more money and time into the game to secure the franchise as the New MW. I hope so.

Not to sales, but it does have the potential to be better than Modern Warfare.

The Game.

Is it after 9PM EST? You should probably ignore the above post.

Gameplay? Maybe.

Sales? Nope.

Amount of objects that range from gun-metal grey to dirt brown? Even competition.

The last Medal of Honor title EA put out on the 360/PS3/PC (Medal of Honor: Airborne) was probably my favorite first person shooter based on the second world war. It was unfortunate I got the game late in it's production cycle, to get it online and find that only 8/12 people who play it on a semi constant basis. I hope that they keep a similar formula in terms or ranking and upgrading weapons in the new game, it just works.

You'll find that similar popularity from EA's Battlefield Bad Company. In my opinion I like them both.

To be honest, anything has the potential to be better than Modern Warfare. It's a first person shooter set in a Hollywood style war, their becoming a dime a dozen. Eventually people will become tired of the genre and you'll see a new first person shooter based on an earlier era or futuristic era of war.

I strongly disliked that game.

Battlefield's popularity doesn't last. I recently read that Bad Company 2's userbase just dropped by over one million between the three systems it's on, while MW2 has a huge userbase sticking around. Bad Company 2 is the better game in my opinion, just sayin'.

Well, I wouldn't say anything, but yeah, a lot of them do.
