I figured that since alot of people here got a Kindle Fire for the holidays this thread is a place that we can discuss apps or problems with Kindle Fire. A place to discuss Kindle Fire.
I just picked one up today but I am having a problem with it it says I am connected to the WiFi connection but I am unable to get any internet. Anyone else have this problem. Everything else connected via WiFi in my house is working My Wii my 3DS and my sons 3DS and a laptop and another computer. I tried resetting the modem and still nothing. Just wondering what if anyone else is having a problem like this or had one and how they fixed it.
Thanks.

YEEEEEEEEEEEAAH. sorry no idea how to fix your wi-fi; mine's always worked fine, even though "silk" is the slowest/most broken browser i've ever used, including my nintendo system browsers. videos and music stream great, but silk can hardly load anything half the time.
Let's discuss the forthcoming Onlive app. Will you try it? Are you excited to play Arkham City on a 7-inch tablet? Are you starting to wonder how the $50 "tablet-compatible" Onlive controller you just bought will possibly work with it, considering the Fire has no bluetooth and the USB adapter doesn't fit?! (OK, that last one's just me. Should've known better before I basically got the Fire for Onlive.)
@Sykotek: Yep I have seen that thread that you linked there. I was mainly wondering if anyone here had that problem I guess not. Looks like I will have to contact support.
@Oddy: Ummmm Yeah I probably wont be using Onlive on my Kindle Fire for the reasons you pointed out.

This really isn't only related to the Kindle Fire, but if you have any Android device, Amazon's Appstore offers a free premium app every day, so it's worth checking back everyday for free games, apps, etc. Even if you can't access it from your device, you should be able to add it to your account from visiting Amazon's website on your computer.
Today, they're offering Splashtop Remote Desktop for free which allows you to...well...remote view your computer desktop (pc/mac) from your phone or tablet. Pretty nifty.
What is the meaning of life? That's so easy, the answer is TETRIS.
In my personal opinion the Kindle Fire is much better than an iPad. I would buy a Kindle Fire except I live in the UK, also I want a tablet with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich
@lonlon-milker It's pretty much the cheapest mainstream tablet-esque device on the market right now. So if you have a problem with its price, you'll likely have a problem with every other tablet's price. Unless you really think it's a bad value at 2.5 times less the price of an entry-level iPad.
EDIT: Installed Splashtop. This may be the coolest thing ever.
I was considering getting a Kindle Fire, but the only thing I would use it for would be games, Netflix and books. Since my 3DS can play games and Netflix and my Kindle touch can read books. I really have no need for it.

Ok well I got in touch with the customer service about my Kindle Fire not being able to get web pages. In the end the rep couldnt find out what was wrong either so they are sending me a free replacement which should be here in a few days.

Wait I thought your problem was with connecting to Wi-Fi, not Silk. Did everything else work fine? Because Silk always takes ages to load anything and oftentimes says "the page cannot be loaded," even if it's a simple website that's not having any server problems or anything. I could be having the same issue. At any rate, be sure to post if your replacement fixes your problem.
Also, how did I not know about remote desktop apps til now?! Splashtop is a fantastic substitute for Silk, other than window scrolling.
@Oddy: No the problem was I was connected to WiFi but couldnt view any webpages at all I couldnt even register my Kindle to my Amazon account on the Fire. Thats where the problem was.

I'm using google.music on the browser. it sucks as the mobile site keeps turing into the desktop site every few songs. the desktop app doesn't mutiny task which sucks.

My Google Music library is the same as my Amazon Cloud Drive's, so I just use the latter on my Fire since it's built in. Also, Mylo Xyloto is awesome, think I'm gonna revive the thread.
I use Pulse and USA Today's app. I'm definitely open to more recommendations, of course.
If I ever get another tablet someday it will be one with Onlive support, that's all I know.
I'd say freely. its magazine like where it starts with the lastest news then go by section. I love getting ready for lunch and go thru my gaming and fashion news.
I have had nylon cutoff along with Florence and the machines new pablum for around a month andlisten haven't listened too them yet. been banging childish gambino, dad racist, and the mighty switch force soundteack.
