DB FighterZ, Monster Hunter World and now Shadow of the Colossus remake. Don't get me wrong here I'm really happy I've got my switch but the new year has been very, very, good to PS4 Owners, and with God of War, the Last of 2 and Detroit still to come what has Nintendo coming up to top these releases? Mario Tennis? Kirby? Am I being short-sighted or do they not quite stand up?

@faint I can't say I let it crumple me up too much, especially considering the post is actually about Switch and what games it has to compete with other console's lineups. All's it takes it a little reading you see.

I think the difference between Sony and Nintendo is that Sony likes to announce their games well a year before a game's actual release whereas Nintendo likes to keep their cards closer to the chest and announce things the year of their actual release
Mind you, this is by no means a rule, but more of a trend with exceptions to both, with which you could do a whole thread.
What we know so far from Nintendo are Yoshi, Kirby, Fire Emblem, Hyrule Legends, DKC Tropical Freeze, Mario Tennis Aces and LABO. And most of these are only up till May. Sure, it may look a bit scarce for the moment, especially when compared to PS4, but I highly doubt these have been all the cards Nintendo has at its disposal.
Also, having spent the better part of the weekend and the past few days playing MH, DBFZ and now Dissidia NT, I gotta say. I really do miss the Switch's portability and most importantly sleep mode. I turned on the PS4's Sleep Mode, thinking it'd leave the game open to take a quick shower and when I came back, it had quit the game! Seriously wishing these games were on Switch.
It's a really good point you raise about announcement times - Nintendo probably has a load of smooth tricks packed up their sleeve's. Probably a good thing to keep them hush-hush too, Sony's uber-hype policy is one of the reasons No Man's Sky got them in so much trouble!

Ye...must admit...I really fancy a PS4 at the moment, but I'll wait to see how cheap they are at Christmas. Blade Runner 2049 has really made me want a Bluray player. Anyhoo, I'm still knee deep in Switch games from 2017! I'm actually glad January is traditionally quiet. Seems Sony are thankful too and jumped on the month lol! Everybody is winning in the video game industry at the moment. It's fantastic and I'm happy for the other console owners.

Anyhoo, as you say, I too am stuck in a quagmire of gaming excellence from the big N, and gaming is definitely tight all around (mostly). perhaps I should have titled this post "A GOOD TIME TO BE A GAMER"!
