@BlueGBAMicro
No.
I keep playing my video games around 2 - 3 hours each day.
I turned off Online function from 3DS to save the battery as I play the games offline.
No not really. My biggest worry in terms of cost and gaming is the price of retro games. If something happens to my retro games collection how much it would cost to replace all of them including the boxes and manuals.
What is expensive is to heat up your house and water.
But in summer you don't need heat for your house, at least, so it's cheaper to live during summer.
Most modern TVs have power saving when in sleep mode, and modern light bulbs should be energy efficient. But it doesn't mean that keeping them on is not a problem.
Apparently this article got a lot of stick for being inaccurate. A typical TV wastes a maximum of under £5 a year, according to the top comment (the articles states it as £24).
Live within your means, stop buying those roller skates or vape pens just because your favourite Tik Tokker uses them, saving money is just as cool as trending on the social media.
I hear volunteering for medical experiments pays well.
Instead of taking an expensive limo or helicopter ride to the food bank try walking there instead.
Dog food is a good cheap source of protein rather than KFC or rib eye steak which is expensive.
If you do insist on buying KFC rather than dog food use their toilets whilst you are there as that will help save your toilet paper expenses.
If you have a pet consider getting rid of it and having a pet rock, obviously don't buy a pet rock, find a wild one in the park.
Rather than watching tv try opening the curtains and watching the clouds instead.
If you're old remember to ride the bus all day using your free bus pass as that's cheaper to keep warm that way than having the heater on.
Remember to only flush the toilet once every 2-4 weeks, just put the lid down to block the smell.
Rather than listening to music or the radio make your own music by scratching and banging the empty turned off fridge.
Church gives you free wine and crackers every week, you sinners should be going to church anyway.
@Zuljaras begging is illegal in some places so I don’t think it’s fair to put that on the list.
We can put moving to a country/state where begging is legal though, ideally to hot place like Hawaii where it’s legal to beg as well so it’s a two-for-one so they can save money by not putting their heaters on and actually make some money by begging too.
I also forgot to include instead of buying food you should buy a belt instead. Every time you have a hunger pain tighten the belt around your stomach which makes you feel more full by having less space to fill!
@Rambler Unless you're also plugging high wattage appliances (kettles, toasters anything with a heating element) you're not going to overload an extension socket with chargers - especially if they are not actually plugged into anything.
Just enjoying the hobby while I still have my full cognitive faculties and finite resources are still available to power my various devices. Nothing lasts forever. Eventually I'll be too senile to enjoy the hobby. Or WW III will have broken out as nations fight each other for dwindling resources.
YOLO!
Live for today because there might not be a tomorrow.

Back before I started working part-time, saving electricity doesn't really cross my mind. (Except when we participate in Earth Hour.) Now that I know how much electricity costs, I try to only use the console for like 4 hours at most a day. Or if I play, I play in the morning with the curtains drawn so I can turn off the lights.
i live at an apartment building so for my apartment that i live in i dont have to worry about the electric bill. i could play videogames all day all night if i wanted to
