@Vortexeo I have both physically so can't say for sure but I find that hard to believe as the games looks on par with the previous one (and that was ported from the Vita so the assets should not be that big to start with)
@Balta666 Ikr? I was just browsing the eShop and noticed how much bigger the file size for Ys VIII was compared to IX. When I saw the difference I thought it was a typo or something lol.
I know I'm coming late to the party but is there a way to stop using Crimson Line each time I want to use a combat skill ? It seems impossible when the game gets really laggy.
What's the verdict on the Switch version these days? Early reviews said performance was underwhelming. That said, I played the demo and it didn't seem horrible. If anything, it made nostalgic to when I played Ys games on PSP and Vita. Tempted to just buy the deluxe edition on the eShop given the current sale.
@TheExile285 Haven't played it on Switch myself, but my understanding is it had pretty severe performance issues in town. Which isn't a massive surprise when the game was even all that impressive performance-wise on PS4.
When you're in the town there's a noticeable frame drop, but elsewhere it ran fine. I finished the game and I'd say it ran well apart from when you're running around town.
