@Ralizah for sure. Looks good but I just went over board on my purchases. I almost pulled the trigger on it( or Capcom beat em up bundle)but ultimately chose timespinner. I've been in the mood for a solid metroidvania
Oh and I loved fire emblem, just wasn't able to get far in it.
@NintendoByNature I don't know when I'll get to Fire Emblem, but I do want to own it, and also support Nintendo localizing old games like this, so I just pulled the trigger. I love the series, but considering how basic pretty much everything other than platformers were on the NES, I'm not expecting much.
Another cool thing about Ys Origin is that it functions as a prequel to Ys I & II, which I played earlier in the year. I'd love to see all of these games on Switch at some point.
Currently Playing: Metroid Prime 4: Beyond (NS2); Corpse Factory (PC)
@Ralizah nice! Im all for it too..I want nintendo to bring all their older titles over with this treatment honestly. The localizing makes it that much cooler. And honestly it was super fun for an archaic game.
Horace - Can't pass by after it's positive reception.
Akuto Showdown - My kids, nephews and nieces might enjoy this.
Tumblestone - Skipped it on WiiU.

I got a £25 eShop voucher for Christmas and brought Saints Row The Third and Leisure Suit Larry from the sale with it. I've been playing loads of platformers this year so looking forward to having some different genres to focus on, although I did have a few pounds left over and spent it on the Sonic Mania DLC.
@NintendoByNature The combat looks pretty unique too. Loved watching the E3 demos back when we first heard about it. I suspect I will enjoy this one more.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
@ArlongKing01 Really? wow I I never get a game after the trial is it that good? I tride it myself but I didn't really like bc of the drifting, think you can give me a tip or two?
Nintendo are like woman, You love them for whats on the inside, not the outside…you know what I mean! Luzlane best girl!
(My friend code is SW-7322-1645-6323, please ask me before you use it)
@Snatcher IT'S THAT GOOD. I've got over 200 hours in MK8 and CTR. Go to Coco Park track (a fairly simple oval) to practice drifting in time trial mode(under Arcade Mode), or race on easy.
For learning purposes, make an easy-difficulty game save file for story mode. If you can beat the boss on the 4th or 5 race on easy, that was enough to get me good enough to play story mode on normal difficulty. You'll have to back out of the game and open a normal difficulty save file. (that's how you select difficulty for story mode)
With CTR story mode, if you're not in first place, the AI can dump on you. So, you have to aim for first place. While that's a bit different than MK8, it's still very fun. The tracks & racing are awesome.
Drifting Tips
If you look up how to drift CTR or CTR tips on youtube, it may be easier to learn if you can see it. So, you don't need to read my tips below if youtube is easier. Again, CTR is THAT good. It's worth giving it a solid try.
stringing boosts keeps adding to your top speed. You can keep that top speed as long as you don't hit the side of the track.
As you maximize your boost, and string them together, you'll notice your exhaust flame growing - this indicates you're going faster. Keeping the flames bigger is good.
They don't have weight classes like Mario Kart. Instead, CTR lets you use whatever driving style you want on any character. The driving style is like MK8's weight classes. Heavy class had highest top speed. In CTR Speed style is the fastest, Drift style is next fastest. Balanced is 3rd fastest. I only race with speed style.
kart customization and characters do not affect performance, only the Driving Style you pick for the character affects performance.
NOTE: every track has a shortcut. If you can boost ok, and still can't keep up with AI or a boss, you probably don't know the shortcut, and you need to find it. A couple are super hidden, and I had to use youtube to find it. Some of these shortcuts require 3 full boosts to access.
NOTE: You can still unlock everything in the game playing on easy. It doesn't matter which difficulty you unlock stuff.
I bought CTR when it came out but honestly it just ruined my nostalgia for the original a bit. Got through adventure mode but wasn't really enjoying myself so never touched it again since.
Had a buy 2g1f coupon from EBgames and got used copies of Link's Awakening, Splatoon 2, and Xenoblade 1
My kids were fighting over SMO (a digital Christmas gift) so I've ordered a second copy to sort that out. I didn't realise how awesome the game was for kiddos and thought it would be unfair to have 2 of them excluded because I bought the pro controller/digital code combo (I usually buy carts).
I also bought 2 copies of Sonic Mania/Racing cart for my kids and nephews.
Nintendo has REALLY helped during the pandemic and lockdowns.
