Topic: Xenoblade Chronicles 3

@EaglyBird I’m on the same boat as you. I’m attached to the characters in the saga but the themes of all of the games revolve around the future and moving forwards. Although I’m not fond of Alpha as a villain in FR he’s trying to erase the past aka the people from Bionis/Alrest and abandoning them for the City people. It’s also reinforced where Matthew reminds Na’el of who they descended from which is pretty much saying to move towards the future but don’t forget where you came from. You know, it’s ironic how the latter takes place on the original earth where Klaus abandoned the world by destroying it and his regrets are later shown through Zanza/The Architect.. I’m open to anything for Xenoblade’s future, I don’t even care about what the blue light is going to be. I’m sure Takahashi can cook up something good like he always does. And I hope we get another artbook too! I always wondered why the baby Mio was included when neither Sena or Taion have artwork like it or when there wasn’t a prologue taking place in Alrest. I have the one which came with the collector’s edition and it feels like there’s things missing, not to mention there hasn’t been concept art of the FR characters yet. I thought it would be following the same pattern as 2/Torna where the artbook would be released a few months after the respective DLC but I guess we’ll need to wait and see.

@EaglyBird A part of me wants the next game to take place in this same universe but the other doesn’t, something entirely new would be nice too but the previous games should be acknowledged through some way. We’ll just have to see what the “future awaits”! (Also Saga and X fans have been fighting about the blue light lol. Chill, we’ll probably find out in like 5 years or something)

And definitely, another artbook is definitely needed. There’s a scan of the Alrest Records artbook but it hasn’t been translated so I’m missing out on anything inside it unless I use a translating app. The Monado Archives was also in Japanese and surprisingly French until it got the fan translation so I have a gut feeling a book for 3 is going to be Japan only too. 3’s lore can be hard to understand sometimes which is why a lot of aspects about it seem vague, there’s still some unanswered questions like you said and having answers would be nice. Sorry if I sound too negative for this, but I think a lot of people including me were expecting more questions to be answered in FR. Yes there were some but I don’t like how the game left so many things vague, it seriously got under my skin. It feels like the devs were trying to avoid certain character names for some reason, but considering some other characters wouldn’t understand (Nikol wouldn’t know who Fiora was in Aionios or Glimmer knowing who Zeke was when Rex said he looked up to him) I guess it makes sense in a way. As much as I don’t want to admit it my love for FR has worn out a lot over time, it’s very good but I prefer the base game in a lot of ways. I also want to know who’s kids are who’s, such as if Crys is another Shulk/Fiora child since he looks like them even if it isn’t an exact resemblance like Nikol. Ironically parts of the Xenoblade community are more obsessed with family stuff than the actual game is where they show the “photo” for 3 seconds and have Nia’s Hero Quest being optional when she doesn’t even say outright she’s her mom. It’s more obvious in FR but it still feels vague honestly. A 3 second photo has more fanart of it than a good portion of 3’s cast, I just want some more Moebius fanart or even more art of the Heroes. I doubt they’d announce an artbook for in a Direct, it’s more likely to be a Twitter drop but I’d prefer a Direct announcement over some random third parties I don’t care about lol. At this point the Noah & Mio amiibos probably don’t exist, they were announced way too early and I’m not sure if we’ll get any news on them for a while but I hope we do soon. It feels like a perfect launch alongside the artbook. (Copium time: Mario Wonder doesn’t have any amiibos releasing on the same day, they can release then! Or Warioware Move It, it doesn’t have amiibos either. It’s bound to happen, right?! Right…? 🥲) Apologies for the ramblings, this happens way too frequently when I talk about Xenoblade

Why did the CE randomly go back in stock for Europe? It feels totally random but hopefully more people are able to get them this time. I have one already but it feels unfair with how Nintendo’s handling the orders for them

I'd guess that they had a small amount of stock held back, to cover returns and the like, and they were selling them off when the window for that was closed.

That would normally happen without much fanfare but, given the shambolic nature of the original sale, they probably wanted to give a heads up to the people who'd missed out.

Does anyone think there’s a chance of the Noah and Mio amiibo being revealed at the Direct tomorrow?

@EaglyBird If the rumors are true I think an X port/remaster/whatever will be a Switch 2 game to show off the capabilities of the console. Also can you summon 3’s artbook into existence?

I'd happily sacrifice half of 2's Rare Blades, they're so bland and forgettable with the most generic anime personalities... but 3's Heroes... you'll have to go through me first.

@TheJGG I hardly remember 2’s Blades but I can count every Hero from 3 at the top of my head. I think part of it is that they’re obtained through the gacha thing and 3’s Heroes are already accessible

$40 for those Mio/Noah amiibos. Yeesh.

@Ralizah I thought they would only be $25 or $30 like the other two packs or the Pythra ones. When they first went up on Bestbuy I honestly thought the $40 tag was a mistake, maybe it’s because they’re part of another series and not Smash? I paid the same price for all three Deep Cut amiibo individually lol
