I usually make sure there's something new to play with at Christmas. The funny thing is, this year, I can't think of a game I want enough to buy at the moment. After Luigi's Mansion & A Hat in Time, there hasn't been anything that I want.
@Eel Hilarious. I saw one reply from, "Eel", and I thought, uhhh!, Eel's gonna say there's another thread
Not bad, Eel. Thanks again for helping me with the pokemon card gift earlier this month. Yer the neatest!
Edit: I just realized I downloaded Yooka-Laylee and handn't played it yet. I guess I stealth gifted myself something after all.
Legend of Zelda Links Awakening
LEGO City Undercover
LEGO Jurassic World
Starlink Battle for Atlas (physical game copy on sale for $9.99, but I did both digital collection packs & Star Fox DLC to have 100% in-game content and to never have to touch the dumb tedious physical toy setup/swapping. Just my opinion. 😉)
Plus, just got the classic gray Switch Lite yesterday. I play the heck out of my OG Switch, so now I can rest it when not in TV mode. OMG the Lite is literally as light as a feather. I never realized how heavy the original Switch is until now. The Lite is a fantastic compliment (little brother to the standard model).
Nothing in particular on the Switch front. I'm still playing Luigi's Mansion 3, and though I've decided I'll probably get Xenoblade 2: Torna next, it's not specifically for Christmas as I would be buying it anyway.
The story is a bit different on PS4 thanks to the big Holiday & New Years sales though. Got Kingdom Hearts III, Tales of Berseria, LEGO Jurassic World, Knack II, and the Order 1886 all for under $60.
Assassin's Creed: Rebel Collection, because it looks like the perfect game to go with the Aussie Summer/New Years. And it just looks fantastic. Sea shanties!!!
Collection of Mana. For some good old fashion nostalgia (nothing reminds me of summer as a kid more than playing Secret of Mana, haha maybe not but it's definitely up there). 50% off on the eshop and I also finally get to play the sequel. The price was finally right.
Alien: Isolation because it's another fantastic game and port from what I hear. Gonna watch the original Alien tonight to get hyped.
That's this years picks for me. Not gonna load them up until Christmas day though. Want to make it a bit more special this year. I believe i've chosen wisely.
White PS3 Slim 320GB (used condition) with two PS3 starter games: Ratchet & Clank Future A Crack in Time and Final Fantasy XIII.
A Perfect wish that will come true on 1 January 2020.
Well... I now have a TV set up (and am not borrowing my roommates occasionally to play PS4) for the first time in close to a decade, so I guess I'll be trying out tv mode finally, that was my big thing. Though I also have close to a dozen games that I ordered Black Friday that came in over the month, don't think I even want to admit to list all those out.
For the actual holiday though I bought telescope filters and eyepieces. I have more than enough games. I might cave and get a eshop card to snag a few cheap games on my wishlist though. Going to spend tomorrow gaming.
Edit, I also bought a new cast iron dutch oven and a wok. Can't find mine (likely buried in storage) so tis the season to go shopping. Since I finally got my 1tb card for my dq switch I count setting that up as my prezzie.

@Ryu_Niiyama Nice. Tangent question When you study spectra, are you just looking for what the star is made of, or also looking for planets and their compositons?
@Woomy_NNYes Planets. Spectra composition (as well as stellar "wobble") helps determine if there are planets orbiting a star.

@rallydefault, as someone who has played both, I'd recommend Astral Chain unless you're a huge Marvel fan.
There's nothing specifically wrong with MUA3 (it's a decent action title that can put up a suprisingly stiff challenge at times), however Astral Chain is simply a higher class game in nearly every regard, IMO (it stands up with BotW, Odyssey, & XC2 in terms of AAA level exclusives on the system as far as I'm concerned).
Currently Playing:
Switch - Blade Strangers
PS4 - Kingdom Hearts III, Tetris Effect (VR)
Thought I wasn’t going to receive any games this year - I never do, really - so I grabbed myself Link’s Awakening at a pretty decent discount. However, turns out I got Dragon Quest XI S for Christmas. Thrilled!
Got some funds from my family, so I decided to download a game for myself (seeing as no one would buy one for me; not that they’d know what to get me anyway 😁). I went for the Mega Drive Collection. I do have the old Xbox 360 collection and a Mega Drive Mini, but the crossover is enough plus having a virtual console effectively on my Switch Lite (along with the NES SNES apps) means I will never be short of things to play on the move.
‘You swapped three different N64 games for Pokemon Stadium? Where’s your pride? Your dignity?!?
