The music license issue makes kind of an exception, but a lot of games are sold digitally for a long long time.. certainly longer than the physical versions are manufactured. But I agree limited-run digital games are stupid (cough 3D all-stars). I would argue a main advantage of digital is how easily they can continue to be sold for a long time without extra costs or at least it should be that way.
@Dogorilla The wording does seem a little odd, but there were physical copies of this too I think, so I reckon it probably just means no more physical copies will be produced either. To be honest, they've probably not produced many physical copies of this recently anyway - it will just be whatever stock is still held in stores.
@dmcc0 Yeah, that's probably it. I've seen from Nintendo Life's article that this does apply worldwide. At least there are still physical copies out there.
Thank you Nintendo for giving us Donkey Kong Jr Math on Nintendo Music
@Dogorilla I don't remember actually seeing many places stock it physically - I remember Argos stocked the version that included the drum a while back, but the digital price is usually pretty low (I remember it only being a couple of £ when I bought it, but Deku Deals says it didn't go below £7.49?) I ended up just buying digitally and picking up a couple of cheap drums from AliExpress
@dmcc0 What are your cheap AliExpress drums like? I've got the official one but it's still sealed and I'm in two minds as to whether to crack it open or keep for megabucks value. Ideally cheap copies do the job just fine and I'll get some I'm happy for the kids to use.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit Yeah, they seem decent enough. I've never used the official ones so can't really compare them, but I haven't had any issues with the cheap ones. They look a bit cheaply made, and feel quite light - they actually have a cylindrical gap underneath where you're supposed to put a filled water bottle to weigh them down - but I can live with that given how cheap they are compared to the official ones.
Honestly not sure if I like the idea of a live-action Zelda. Clearly the cartoony animation style of Mario wouldn't work either, but I was hoping for a darker more artistic animation.
Nintendo is doing a live action Legend of Zelda movie. Wow!
This is probably just wishful thinking on my end but maybe the rumours about Wind Waker/Twilight Princess HD getting Switch ports might actually have some legs to them if an entire Zelda movie is on the horizon? The Switch is thiiiiiiiis close to being a full Zelda machine and putting the last two major entries on it in lieu of the movie's announcement would certainly drum up a ton of hype going into the Switch's presumed final year.

@JONOFTHEJONS
Paw Patrol have the second movie last month.
It called Paw Patrol The Mighty Movie.
I have watched that movie at my local cinema XXI for 5 times.
@Fizza Considering how much they seem to be double-downing on Mario-related games and announcements the same year as the Mario Movie (6--sort of 7-- Mario-related games not even counting they added more Mario games to NSO this year!) I would be surprised if there wasn't at least a Zelda port planned for the same year as the movie or as part of overall Zelda hype.
@Fizza I think the generation transition period makes things complicated. From Aonuma's comments about keeping open world, the next Zelda is likely around 2029 and Nintendo wouldn't want a Zelda drought. So the options that come to mind are:
New 2D Zelda appears like SMB Wonder was for Mario
More spinoffs like Switch had 2 Hyrule Warriors (1 port, 1 new) and Cadence of Hyrule
Stockpile missing Zelda games (e.g. WWHD, TPHD, PH, ST, ALBW) for Switch 2's lifespan
Switch 2 has an upgrade system like PS5 (e.g. GoW Ragnarok is $60 for PS4 and $70 for PS5, if you want to upgrade your PS4 version it's $10)
Switch 2 has absolutely no backwards compatibility so everything has to be rebought
Switch 2 gets something like a FFVII Remake Trilogy style remake of OoT and/or MM where the remake coexists with the original game rather than replacing it
I'm leaning towards the first 3 options (2D Zelda, spinoffs, stockpiling missing games) as most likely.
