I'm undecided if the Rabbids will be ironically, enjoyably stupid or miserably, unfunny stupid. And regardless of what you think about them, this is still a Nintendo game that will inevitably have Nintendo involvement, so past Rabbids games are not a definitive example of how they will be.
Tbh, this is the only real worry about this game. Otherwise it's just...random and odd. It doesn't even come across as something being made purely for money, because otherwise it would probably play like the lego games or something. Any sort of RPG (that isn't Pokemon) is risking being more niche of a kid's game, so I'm under the assumption it will actually be a good video game.
I took a picture of a joystick from a Wii U Pro Controller I barely used, and a particularly nasty one from my Gamepad (after cleaning it!) that I used more than anything. I guess it goes to show how much I use my game systems, but it also shows how cheap the joystick padding is. The same thing happened to my first 3DS. For this reason, I sure hope they don't use the same material for the joy-con's joy sticks. If so, at least a pair of joy-cons cost a bit less than a new Gamepad.
Think the only issue I had was the old 3DS and the circle pad, finally came off around the time Smash 3DS released. Thankfully some super glue fixed it.

Keep it PG-13-ish.
Sheesh, I figured it was sweat that was dissolving the material, but maybe it's some snack I'm eating, or maybe I've just played Wii U much longer than all of y'all. I'm gonna calculate my Wii U's mileage.
Adding up numbers from the activity log, I got 5368:19 hours total off my Wii U. 769:40 of that was Netflix, which doesn't require holding the controller, but that still leaves 4598:39 hours of active game time. A lot, right?
@Nicolaison What in the heck happened to that joystick? That is in no way normal wear. I've worn numerous X360 controllers and one gamepad down to the point that the stick stopped centering properly (and was therefore not usable as a stick since the recentering spring is kind of critical.) The silicone padding on all of them look perfectly fine, aside from the grip "bumps" (X360) and the grip "ring" on gamepad having been worn down so it's now mostly flush with the rest of the stick. That thing looks either melted by heat, or chemically melted by something you put on there that softened the material and let it deform. Some people produce what is basically gasoline in their skin oils, but that usually leeches the plasticizer out, making the material hard and brittle, and prone to cracking, not softening it.
