No word on how much the SFC will be on switch. It will go for 40 on PS4.

Anyway, right now, USFII is 28 bucks on the eShop. Pick it up or wait for the collection?

I have bought USF2 at launch and I'm happy I did because I had a lot of fun with it but I will buy the Street Fighter collection too and I think it will be better than USF2. I'm happy to have both but if I had to choose only one I would have bought the collection and since you have waited for so long I'd wait a few more months and buy the collection. You will miss only HD graphics but get a lot more variety in return.

How are you going to play? Competitively? If so buy both. Casually? Which is your fave SF? If it's II buy USFHDII. If it's something else buy the collection. Just want a bunch of games to play? Buy the collection.

@KrispieKurt
Buy Street Fighter 30th Anniversary, better on Switch version since you can play that game on the go.
Street Fighter 30th Anniversary = SF 1, Five of SF 2, SF Alpha 1 - 3 , SF 3 until 3rd Strike = 12 Street Fighter games in one pacakage.

I say wait for the Street 30th Anniversary collection since you get 12 games plus other stuff on it. 4 of the games have online too, I was planing getting to get USFII ,but didn't have the money yet.I am glad I didn't get USFII since I saw the video from Street 30th Anniversary collection come on youtube about one month ago.

Honestly, I don’t recall what iterations I played as a kid. I never owned one. “Too violent” only played in the arcades. Never had the luxury of an snes. Back in the day it was hard to go with it over the genesis with the lack of video game news. Ultimately, I don’t know which one would be my favorite, but the choice of 16 bit versus hand drawn sprites is intriguing.

Hi.
I recommend Street Fighter Alpha 3 & Street Fighter III 3rd Strike for the Best from their series.
Watch them from Youtube.

@KrispieKurt Based upon your reply I would suggest that you pick up the collection. Gives you the most exposure to the series and unless you are a FG fan you aren't going to care about the tech throw addition and balance changes in USFIIHD.

Thanks guys. I think I will wait for the collection. Hard to beat 12 games in one. I imagine there is a variation of characters in others, as well?

@KrispieKurt
The variation is just Color Swap.
So, there is a White Karate Gi Ken, Red outfits Chun Li, Indigo outfits Rose, etc.

Keep in mind that some of those games are just variations of the same game (Street fighter 2). Don't get me wrong, the collection will offer much more content and variety than USF2 anyway, but if you really expect 12 different games you could feel a bit disappointed when you will try it. I'm just warning you so you know what to expect. I think you have made the right choice, it's just that saying "12 games" could be misleading imho

For me, both.

The 5 Street Fighter II iterations in the collection are little to mildly different versions of the same game, but if you want to have all the SF II games, then Ultra Street Fighter II is definitely a new entry in the series worth owning.

I mean, it's not just color swapping, it has new modes -worthy or not-, the UDON style graphics and the digitalized art book.
