Topic: Switch Physical Boxed Games List & Release Dates (US & CA)

I've been playing catch up regarding releases (for example, just saw the post saying you need to link an account to load Bloodstained? WHY?! Already avoided this crap with Prince of Persia).

Glad I bought the Corpse Party tetralogy via VGP.

Upset that I bought the Fuga: Melodies of Steel trilogy from Play Asia.

Getting tired of hearing games are only coming out in Japan and then a month later they get a NA release. Is it just me? Why don't these things get announced at the same time?? Do they not know where they're releasing their games? With the exception of Nintendo standing in the way...

Scared of the games that are going to start coming out only for switch 2 since I don't plan on getting one. Hyrule Warriors hurt. Especially finding out it was supposed to come out for switch 1 originally.

Just found out about this new single player Splatoon game. Don't know anything about the Yoshi game. If Prime 4 and Hades 2 were switch 2 exclusive, I'd cry.

Apologies. I didn't mean to find out what was physical for switch 2. I don't have one and won't have one. It's just hard to talk about switch 1 vs switch 2 across two forums. That list is painfully small though. Sad. Thank you for the link.

I'm glad devs are creating switch 1 versions of most games still. Keeps me flush with games while Nintendo pisses people off.

@Hamstrman - It's not necessarily a sole-Nintendo issue though. They are making a proprietary data system with their carts. And with the demands for tech increases, even most SD Express makers are not going as low as 64GB. Hell, most card aren't even in the 2-digit space anymore.

Due to that, Nintendo has next to no one willing to foot the bill. To top that off, the tech cannot be easily subsidized like blu-rays, especially that low. So consumers are eating the full brunt of the cost.

But seriously though, I do wonder if the crystal preservation will have practical consumer use. From my cursory research, it suggests that it is good to access data from, but not neccessarily mass produced access to play like carts and discs.

Still a crazy thing to do. I would collect crystals like a Smaug with RGB wings if it were viable.

And just like that The Switch 1 and Switch 2 physical editions of Mortal Kombat legacy collection does not have Mortal Kombat 4 on the cartridges.

The "excuse" is that MK4 was not ready when they submitted the build for printing.

How about if it is NOT ready you don't print it?

Oh c’mon that is just complete BS. Atari and Digital Eclipse should be ashamed. They go through all the expense and trouble of putting the collection on an actual S2 cartridge just to shortchange us like that??
Delay the release for a few weeks and do it right!!

I just picked up my S2 physical last night. When I have time to play it, I’ll block the mandatory download and see what happens.

Hard agree, this isn't like the Spyro trilogy where they straight up tell you that the 2nd and 3rd titles are a mandatory download, is it?

They should’ve been made to print a big fat “DOWNLOAD REQUIRED” warning label on the cover, as a forewarning.

Instead all they have is tiny fine print on the back, saying “Important! A game or system update (or both) may be required to play.” So there’s the CYA legalese. I hate buying games these days.

At this point I've basically been scared away from pre-ordering physical games unless they give super explicit information about what's on the cartridge and what isn't 😔. I wasn't going to get the Mortal Kombat thing since I've never really been interested in the series, but that news is incredibly disappointing anyway.

@Zuljaras - Not only that, as a diehard MK fan, I was hoping to see Deadly Alliance in there in several forms, being one of my favorites. I ended up biting.

The game DOES play without a download, fully. They only have the arcade of MK4, and the GBA version of Deadly Alliance. No console, no arcade, just GBA.

Not to mention, the Gen and SNES have delayed imput issues. And all around terrible build to release period.

@Zuljaras - Yes it still fully functions, just MK4 does not show up in the menu (and it's only the arcade version, no console ones are in the game).

Of course, you also need to update if you planned on playing online. But it operates all the same.

@Paraka Just a sad release. I will get it on massive discount or Jack Sparrow.

It only took three years, but SLG has now delivered on my order for Drainus and Dezatopia & Mecharitz.

Better late than never I always say.
