Ray'z Arcade Chronology, recently listed on Strictly Limited Games, is also getting a JP physical release in March 2023. https://www.play-asia.com/rayz-arcade-chronology/13/70fjlb https://store.strictlylimitedgames.com/collections/all/produc...
Both releases feature the game three games, with the two 3D titles including an enhanced HD remaster. The JP release does not appear to have English language support.
This is a general rule of Strictly Limited Games release now though, they often get retail EU releases through ININ games, or for Taito stuff it may get JP release regardless.
It's a big day over at NIS America. Four new games. Void Terrarium 2, Monster Menu, Process of Elimination, and GrimGrimoire Once More are up for preorder. Void Terrarium 2 is a must-have, I thought the first game was a great mystery dungeon game. I want GrimGrimoire because I want to support Vanillaware and their games whenever possible (please go play 13 Sentinels).
But Monster Menu and Process of Elimination are games I know nothing about.

Is anyone here knowledgeable about physical releases for classic arcade titles, particularly shmups?
I've ordered about all I could find via Play-Asia, Amazon Japan, LRG, Strictly Limited Games, First Press Games and eBay. While I was browsing for Ray'z Arcade Chronology on SLG site, I saw Breakers Collection, which seemed to be a duology of two classic Neo Geo Fighters. So I preordered that as well.
But I'm sure I may have missed some as I haven't stayed in the know for this genre or arcade classics in general.

Dispatch games posted a big update on Twitter, addressing the recent reports of their license being revoked, etc., showing off a bunch of the various pieces of merch for the 3 games.

@JaxonH I think you own the highlights of all the shmups available physically on the Switch. And despite there being a large number of arcade games available digitally a la carte on the eShop, there aren't very many arcade classics available physically. My personal favorites would include the Capcom Belt Action (beat'em up bundle) Collection, Space Invaders Invincible Collection, and the SNK 40th Anniversary Collection.

With all the smaller publishing sites now I can't even keep track of (Limited Run, Strictly Limited, Special Reserve, Super Rare, First Press, etc not to mention individual publishers selling physical games) I definitely wanted to ask, just in case.

Here's the games I have digitally so far. Many of them I have physically (the ones that have physical releases, I have, except for Steredenn which was a UK exclusive via SLG and sells for hundreds of dollars on eBay... screw that)

@JaxonH@SpaceAce13 I've been trying to find a vertical shooter I played on a demo disk on the PC in the mid 90's, thanks for posting this image, it looked at bit like the Raiden ship, this might help me find it!

I also have Ikai Katana and Ray'z Arcade Chronology preordered.
I have Earth Atlantis but, it's kinda different and I prefer the more traditional STGs (also not a fan of dual analog STGs). Wasn't a fan of Graceful EXplosion Machine though I hear many like it. Radirgy Swag also just didn't appeal to me much.
Not sure about Bullet Soul or Shikondo Soul Eater yet. Been contemplating whether I should get those or not.
Aside from that we've got massive overlap.
I highly recommend the Psikyo collections. Sure, they're missing save states but the games are stone cold classics. I was just playing Gunbird 2 last night.
The M2 Shot Triggers ports of Tiger Heli and Fire Shark are also excellent. More old school, but with save states and difficulty options and all the bells and whistles, they're quite fun. Especially Fire Shark.
My biggest surprise was Thunder Dragon 2 (ACA NeoGeo release). Game is excellent.

Octopath traveler II collectors edition up for preorder on square Enix website… but it’s $180 and the game will not be shipped inside the box. Very expensive and strange
@SpaceAce13
For a game like that, I would assume it's getting a standard physical retail release anyway, and probably one that would even be carried by Nintendo's own online stores (as was recently the case with Live-A-Live).
I've also sported a physical release for It Takes Two, but sadly it's a "digital download required" release. https://www.game.co.uk/en/it-takes-two-2894725
I'm not surprised that EA would do such a release, but it's also telling that the digital download is probably quite large. The file size hasn't been revealed on Nintendo's site yet.
