I won't mince words, the only thing I like about the Switch is the fact that it keeps my favourite Wii U and old PC games in one place
Oh, Pokémon is also there.
But anyway, of all the things I dislike about the Switch (of which there are MANY), I think the online service is the worst thing, up there with the lack of first party exclusives and the fact that the home menu is the same as the DSi.
Specifically, its the retro games “service” is what really grinds my Klink. It would be fine had 2006-2016 not happened, like if the Wii, Wii U and 3DS never existed (incidentally had the Wii U never existed the Switch would have about 5 first party games), but the fact that in 2 years it has a worse selection than the Wii’s virtual console had in that timespan is really quite alarming.
Honestly if they’d dropped the whole NES back catalogue from day 1, with the SNES, GB and GBA back catalogues coming at 6 month intervals we’d have a great lineup by now. I really don’t know what theyre so scared of.
Id really love to know why it’s physically impossible for this virtual console replacement to have a decent library. Why are Nintendo unable to add Gameboy games, the entire NES and SNES libraries, and start a semi-regular roll out of N64 games now.
b) It's pretty darn obvious why they don't release it all at once. They need stuff to add to the service each year to renew interest in the subscription. If they had released everything in the first year you'd probably still be here now saying that they haven't done anything new with the scheme in the following years.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@gcunit I must disagree there
It depends how they’d do it lmao, like let's say they’d released every NES and SNES game already, maybe a monthly drop of GB titles
We still had GBA, N64, GC and Wii to go
Maybe not whole library drops at once, but even releasing 5 games a month per console wouldn’t put them in danger of running out
They could port the entire Wii U VC library and we’d still have a ton of games left over
I don't really care with Virtual Console as i have very few interest with old Nintendo games such as NES, SNES, GBA.
Since the games i want from them are mostly different than VC, i will choose their actual cartridges and the machines instead.
I can live and play Nintendo Switch without VC libraries in digital.
