Topic: Switch Lite

Hello. Having already a Nintendo Switch, is there an added value to also get the Lite version considering that I don’t have the online account ?

Ever since I got my Lite, my regular Switch became a permanent resident of the dock.

The Lite goes around with me on trips and vacations, and I only really use the regular one to play on the TV.

Having the subscription helps thanks to the online backups, but you can also manually move the save data between consoles... Though if you intend to switch between consoles too often, it might become annoying.

Hi, I wouldn't recommend it as it can get messy without cloud saves & your current Switch already has the functions of a Lite. If you really want a new system I would wait for the next generation or swap out your current one for an OLED. Hope that's useful!

I started with the lite in 2019 and bought a regular switch earlier this year, as my kids like playing together so the docked feature, which I prefer personally, was the reason I bought a second machine. I then thought I’d try and see how it works having both systems at the same time, using cloud saves etc and having the switch docked in my games room and the Lite by my bed.

Only one system can be your main switch, with the secondary system needing an internet connection to play downloaded games. Do you’d have to make your regular switch your ‘home switch’ which can access the internet at all times, with your Lite being your ‘main switch’ which doesn’t need to check online to let you access your downloaded games.

After a couple of months I got tired of the swapping back and forth and decided just to blank the Lite and give it to my son. One switch is enough for me!
