@NeonPizza A few of the songs are really catchy, but I agree most are just ok. Personally I really enjoyed a lot of the weird sound effects they stuck in, especially the ones that are character-dependent which was a nice touch.
As for lack of difficulty.. this argument has probably been over-done in this thread, but I would still argue almost all 2D Mario games have been easy and this is similar (ok, all except Lost Levels and Mario Maker). It's true it's hard to game over in Wonder and even then you don't really game over, but even as far back as Mario 3, you had infinite continues and lost almost no progress if you gamed over, so that hasn't really been a concern since the very start of the series. I would say Wonder is harder than Mario World and a little easier than nsmbu deluxe, mainly because it doesn't have DLC Challenges which I hope are coming to Wonder. The game does slowly dribble in some harder levels as you continue — what might be 'expert' in Mario Maker language (although mostly on the easier side of expert). These are of course all optional levels.
Definitely doesn't reinvent the wheel but that phrase is usually a negative 😆
I ended up giving the game a 10, but I often think of whether it maybe only deserved a 9. And then I think that my criteria for 10 may be impossibly high. I'll probably re-look at my score whenever I eventually replay the game.
Anyways, hope you keep enjoying it! It may not be hard until the last level, but it certainly does a good job trying to be fun.
Overall, I will say Super Mario Bros. Wonder's soundtrack, while decent, doesn't have much of anything that stands out in my mind. Except the final badge; for some reason I love the ridiculous noises SO. MUCH. XD But in nearly every area, this game is a refreshing breath of air from the stale NSMB series. I've only played two of those, the original and the original NSMB U.
@NeonPizza Out of anything Mario-related I've played - and I'll admit the list isn't as comprehensive as it could be with some of the RPG spinoffs - I agree that Super Paper Mario has one of if not THE best OSTs. You linked some good ones. Other personal faves are In The Darkness, Sammer's Kingdom, O'Chunks's theme, and The Underwhere.
Currently playing: Pokemon Scarlet - The Indigo Disk, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury (Switch)
Ah. I'll have to experience that one on my own then. I've been gradually playing through the Mario & Luigi series in order. Though it's been awhile; I played Partners In Time partway through last year.

People have been asking whether Wonder sales will pass new super mario bros U deluxe sales but the Nintendo fiscal update didn't directly update Wonder sales so I looked a little more carefully.
Nintendo doesn't typically report precise total sales numbers unless a game sold a million units so far this fiscal year or is one of the top 10 overall games. Wonder didn't make the cut this quarter but there was some indirect information:
Total 2D Mario sales: 41 million (rounded so it may be a bit below or a bit above)
nsmbu deluxe: 17.77 (updated number)
mario maker 2: 8.42 (not updated for 2 years)
Mario Wonder: 13.44 (Not updated in 6 months)
Adding those numbers up gives: 39.63
Since this is nowhere close to 41, clearly there are a bunch of unreported Mario Maker (likely not many) and Wonder sales. If I were to guess Wonder got close to the million threshold this year but hasn't passed it yet. So almost certainly above 14 million but below 14.5 as of Oct 1.
@FishyS Oh wow that is very interesting, good find! So about 1.5 million copies are not accounted for. Maybe around 0.9 Million for Wonder and 0.6 for Mario Maker (maybe Mario Maker got a Mario movie boost like other Mario games)? I kind of liked how they showed how the biggest branches of Mario were selling separately. Mario Party is already there even without Jamboree being counted!
@WoomyNNYes Not too many first party Nintendo sales this black Friday so far. I assume someday Wonder will get the traditional 30% off sale, but at the moment they seem to be putting Wonder in Switch bundles instead.
New Super Mario Bros. Wonder: Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + Meetup in Bellabel Park
Coming Spring 2026!
Includes addition local and online co-op and versus modes, as well as a potential new campaign. Additionally, Rosalina will be playable, and the Koopalings are back!
@CaleBoi25, where did you learn Rosalina being playable ? If it was in the trailer, I didn't catch it.
Also, very excited for this!
Formerly ShieldHero
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Pokémon Violet
2: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
3: Animal Crossing New Horizons
4: Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope
5: The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
@ShieldHero People are saying it is at 2:10 of the trailer. Bottom left or right I think or something. A character icon for her. I can't see it myself, but that is because the youtube time line bar gets in the way everytime I tried.
I have never played Wonder. Was hoping we would get a NS2 upgrade. Are we to presume it will play/look ever so slightly better, do you think? I know it is a 2d platform game, so that may only go so far, but I imagine they would somehow make it more polished? Shame the new content seems to be multiplayer only, but they did say look out for more things. Sounds like there might be something else new.
Based on what we saw, I think a new set of levels is quite likely. I am super excited for the Koopaling fights, especially since they seem to be taking place in the level instead of a battle room!
@Mana_Knight near the end of the trailer they're clearly showing new content for the base game, so this is definitely more than just a multiplayer only add-on
