I always use Zelda Dungeon's walkthroughs whenever I play a Zelda game. It lets me not miss any hearts or any hidden quest or items in the world. Thoughts?
Blind exploration is part of why the game is so good.
It is relevant to use a guide to figure out which of the main temples (and the quests leading to each) to go to first, mostly if you enjoy logical, reasonable, good difficulty curve.
You're gonna fail anyway, its ok, the game doesn't punish you for dying really lol
Also the endgame is in some ways boring and easy if you only do it after getting every single heart and everything (though this is true for a lot of Zeldas arguably...)
I've played nearly every zelda game, and this is the one game in the series that i can say you probably don't need a guide for. I've used zelda dungeon on almost every first run in other entries, and i told myself I wouldn't use a g uide when the game launched, and i stuck to my promise. I'm not saying it's easy, I'm just saying it's really not necessary unless you want to get specific items like others have said.
@link-the-volnutt With botw, just go to every region. The game does a pretty good job of directing you with characters. And remember the pause menu has the log of all the missions your acquire, which is great if you take a long break from the game. You can come back, check the log, and get back in the game without losing track of where to go, and what you've done. (If you select a mission in the log, it puts a pin on the map for where your need to go. It's genius.)
I only really looked up how to get arrows, and a fairy fountain. You can save the completionist stuff for after your beat the main story. Shrines give you orbs, and you get hearts with those. There are enough shrines to get overpowered with hearts.
