Evening All,

So I just bit on this because of the physical release that came out today.

I’m a little surprised how it comes off a LOT more of an Indie game in some ways when Gearbox made it.

For the people who played it, I get that it’s a rogue style but sheesh it seems too hard. Not complaining, as in unbalanced hard. I’ve played a lot of Immortal Redneck and have gotten so much further in a run in that.

What am I don’t wrong? I’ve read to move along fast to get to the portals, so I been doing that. I’ll give it another go later tonight but for now I’m switching games...pun intended. 😉

This game is frustrating the heck outta me right now.

Having not played it myself yet (waiting for my physical copy to arrive), from what I've seen I believe the idea is to purchase as many chests as you can find. They contain power-ups that stack, endlessly. By entering portals you may be increasing enemy difficulty without increasing your own power to match the challenge.

This game is dope and needs more appreciation in the Switch community

We need some noise for crossplay

So, does anyone play this game online? I can`t find ANYONE playing this. Such a shame, as the game is so much more fun multiplayer.

I finally fired up my copy a few days ago. The game is brutal-tough playing solo, but the port is solid. Pure action-shooting at its finest. I fear too many people are passing over the game, which is tragic.

I got that some time back already that I recall.

Reviving this thread because I recently purchased the game, and it's GREAT. It's 50% off right now ($14.99, US) until April 8, and at that price, AND with a new content update on the horizon, it is most definitely worth checking out. Online matches have been surprisingly easy to find, which is a godsend due to playing alone being tough as nails.
In my humble opinion, it's up there with Enter the Gungeon as one of the best roguelikes on the Switch. And if you don't want to base your purchase solely on my fanboy rant, here's a link to the game's Metacritic page --> https://www.metacritic.com/game/switch/risk-of-rain-2

The game received a HUGE update yesterday!

Switch now runs at 60fps (albeit not locked - still a massive improvement though) with what seems to be a higher resolution and upgraded textures all whilst adding all the new content from the Artifacts Update.

Because of the boost in frame rate, I was finally able to obliterate on Monsoon as Engineer to unlock a few achievements that I felt were impossible with the previous unstable performance.

THIS UPDATE IS AMAZING

Sorry, not sure. I traded it in months ago. I would just google it. You’re bound to come across an answer or reason I would think. @bertybertbert

RoR2 supports local multiplayer with multiple Switch systems, but not local splitscreen multiplayer on the same console. Hope that helps.

I've been playing this on PC for the past couple of weeks and I was hesitant to grab it on Switch, even though I'd love to play it handheld.

But I finally did pick it up and I'm really, really, really impressed. The framerate is exceptional, and the gyro controls work faaaar better than I expected. Having played it (non-gyro) with a controller on PC, I know how painful it can be to aim accurately. Now, this is no mouse & keyboard, don't get me wrong, it's not like I'm quickly doing a 180 spin and accurately hitting anything, but for ROR2 on the go - wow. I'm very pleased.

And yeah the game is hard as hell, but also addictive AF. An excellent roguelike in my book, and I've only scratched the surface (only unlocked 4 characters on PC thus far); haven't beaten the game.

So for those who haven't been keeping up with the progress, the game will receive the "1.0" undated this week. 20th in the US, 21st (I think) in Australia.

Not that you'd know following this site of course, sakurai's cat is more important

Oh man, this game dipped under my radar for a while, but I'll be sure to pick it back up once the Captain Survivor class debuts with 1.0.

On that note, I put together my 165 hours of experience and jumped into the 1.0 update today. Played as Engineer on Monsoon and, on my first attempt in 1.0, defeated the final boss in an 85 minute run.

Was pretty stoked.

@Coach_A Please don’t post multiple times in a row.

I can tell you’re a fan of this game, but please don’t be so spammy about it. Yes this includes the multiple snarky comments you made in the articles yesterday.
