Topic: Paper Mario and the Thousand Year Door!!!!!!!

Does anyone know the exact release time Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door releases digitally? I know it releases May 23rd but wasn’t sure the exact time. Is it just midnight in your timezone?

@Joeynator3000 Thanks! That applies to digital as well, right? Because I'm getting it digitally and I'm wondering if it's something I could just start as soon as it hits midnight.

@PikminMarioKirby Oh, I figured physical was always midnight...? Maybe it's just big games as well...? I dunno, I usually go digital now. But yeah I meant the eShop. >.<

@Joeynator3000 Okay that clears things up a bit, thank you so much! I would assume all Nintendo releases are at midnight for digital, besides maybe the shadow drops like Pikmin 1+2 and stuff. Maybe TTYD will get a physical midnight release, but it kind of depends on what Nintendo/retailers want to do (or whoever makes the decision).

@PikminMarioKirby Yes you can start playing it on midnight. At your time zone, if I recall correctly. You may have to keep trying until the console lets you though. If it doesn't work, it'll give you an error message. If that happens and it's midnight, just wait a minute or so, then try again. The game will eventually be open and you'll be able to start it.

@MarioVillager92 Cool! Yeah I haven't had too much experience with it (I used to mostly get just physical games before), so that's good to hear. Can't wait for this game to release!!!!

There are rare times where the game will even unlock early, happened to me a couple of times before. xp

I want to say Pikmin 4, but I can't remember, also can't remember how early...1 hour probably. lol

Actually now that I think about it, it probably was Super Mario RPG. xD

@Joeynator3000 Oh okay lol. Super Mario RPG was really good too. I still can't believe we got remakes of both Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door in such a short amount of time.
If someone 365 days ago told me that we're getting remakes of Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door within 6-7 months of each other, I would probably not believe them.

Ikr it's a great time to be a Mario fan. Both incredible games making their grand return!

I remember back in mid-2023 there were rumors about TTYD returning, which seemed kind of far-fetched at the moment. Then Super Mario RPG got announced, which made TTYD happening anytime soon seem very unlikely. However, seeing the Mario RPG trailer gave me hope that someday we'd see TTYD return.
Thankfully, I didn't have to wait long, and it got revealed just about 3 months after Super Mario RPG was revealed.

Yeah, before SMRPG was announced we were told that we were only get one of them, not both, so this was super exciting. xp

Now if only we could get Super Paper Mario and at least some of the Mario & Luigi games on Switch. xp

@Joeynator3000 I mean we have Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga on GBA, but I would love to see a brand new one or at least a remake of one of the originals.

Yeah i mean like a remake or a port of the games and not for NSO, because screw NSO. >.<

@Joeynator3000 Yeah I'd definitely prefer a remake over an NSO port as well. But perhaps it's better than nothing. Nintendo will likely have to find a new team since AlphaDream seems like it's gone, but hopefully that is possible!

The remakes of the Mario & Luigi games so far look revolting and charmless to me.

I liked them...I just hate that they're on the 3DS.
