@robertkwild Their website is correct. If you're going to use Port Forwarding on your Switch, it's 1-65535. (Which is decimal for the Hex 0-FFFF, all of them). Otherwise, you'd have to find what ports specific functions use and whatnot. You're trying to bypass your NAT restriction, right?

not trying to bypass my nat just trying to create a nat for it

i already have port forwards set up for other hosts so if i do enable port forward for the whole range of ports i will be disabling my existing port forwards for my other hosts?

@robertkwild Port Forwarding is specific to whatever IP/MAC device you're setting the forward rules on. If you've got PF set on your PC to help with Unreal Tournament, for example, that does not impact any other device connected to your router.

You are describing getting your Switch to an Open NAT, which is bypassing your current NAT restrictions. You're not 'creating a NAT'. You don't need to purchase or install any software, either. Everything you need for port forwarding is without your browser-based router settings.

What exactly is the problem?

i didnt have to do a port-forward/NAT at all

all i have done is as follows -

add a new network called DMZ on my opnsense firewall

put my wireless access point on the DMZ

connect my switch to my wap

reserve the switch's IP on the DHCP server so its static

create a manual outbound NAT for my switches IP but make sure you check "static port"

after that i got a NAT score of B and not D anymore so i can now play online

if i didnt create an outbound NAT rule and just put it on the DMZ i still got a NAT score of D

That is so horribly convoluted, unnecessary, and redundant; but I'm glad you can play online now.
