If by some miracle your joy-con haven't experienced drift yet, I wouldn't recommend you play this series of games. They're more akin to a 3D fighting game than a stylish action game like DMC or Bayonetta. Prepare to have your controller experience severe wear and tear should you choose to play these games. Honestly, you might be better off watching a "lets play" rather than experiencing them yourself.

I would have been more excited if it was the NES Trilogy instead of the Xbox one. I played them years ago cause I was a fan of the NES games but these ones In just didn't like. Oh well just something I don't have to buy.

Honestly probably not getting this on Switch. Given these look like proper remasters they'll probably benefit from being played on my PC instead

It does suck that 1 and 2 are the Sigma versions though. They're way easier than the Black ones from what I remember

@TheFrenchiestFry I won't be surprised if some modders make a black patch for PC.

This is cool, now how about a DoA collection. I'd like to play some of the older games on PC.

I’m game. I’ll likely get this for switch and pc and retire my originals. That being said ... isn’t this a duplicate thread?

Hmm, you're right, there are mulitple Ninja Gaiden threads. Weird, maybe my search was isolated to the Switch forum somehow? Anyhow, I'll edit the OP to point towards the thread in the News forum. If that isn't satisfactory I'll nuke this thread, it doesn't matter to me either way.

Have they confirmed if there will be a physical release? It would be cool if some kinda retro unlockable was in the game like the Nes or Snes trilogy. How much is this supposed to cost?

If sales are good maybe they'll start thinking about making Ninja gaiden 4 or at least bring the series back from the dead somehow.

The physical release is exclusive to Japan and Southeast Asia.

You can order a copy from Play Asia, AmazonJP, Shop4megastore, 365games, etc.

According to NL's review, the review version of the collection arrived kind of rough.

I know there'll be a day-one patch but...it's disappointing KT didn't take time and care with this port.

I know it has it's issues as pointed out in the main site's review, but I've heard good things elsewhere so I decided to bite the bullet & get it (hopefully it'll be downloaded by the time I get home from work).

I was thinking about buying a physical copy from Amazon JP, but they were out & not sure when they'd be getting more in so I decided to suck it up & go digital.

Hopefully the difficulty doesn't get to me too much, but I've played through Onimusha, Devil May Cry 1/2, & Astral Chain, so hopefully I'm somewhat prepared (at least on normal).

@RR529 Ninja Gaiden games are more challenging that these series though. They're super fast and super punishing action games.

BTW, are the areas in Rachael's missions completely inaccessible to Ryu, and if not does that mean chests opened by her will be empty when you arrive as Ryu?

I'm wondering how much I should explore during her missions & how many items I should grab (I stumbled into an area where enemies kept endlessly spawning no matter how many I killed, and am wondering if that's an area I should go to as Ryu, or if I should have tried to stick with it as Rachael. It was't necessary to clear her mission).

any impressions from owners here yet? I want the game to have on the go but own the originals...so no rush.

@Ryu_Niiyama If you dont care about low resolutions and occasional frame rate drops, if you just want a version on the go, I dont see why not! It's the exact same games from 10 years ago.

But the reviews arent... kind to the remaster, let's say that.

Me I dont own the collection because of those issues (and that it's only the Sigma versions). There's no excuse these old games cant run 60fps flawlessly on a Switch, it's only 720p.

Just beat a tentacle monster boss in the first game. Hopefully I run into a shop soon as I'm running low on healing items.

Funny how the review on this site talks of poor framerate and bad optimization on switch but every other review I've seen elsewhere says it's mostly fine. They didn't run so hot on PS3 either and the camera was always janky. I'm just glad to have the whole trilogy on switch!

@RR529 how does it run for you? Playing handheld or docked?
