I'm going into this without many expectations, going to be pretty excited at just about anything (as long as it's not 15 mins of Farm Sim games). In general, I hope that there's unexpected announcements coming, and at least one big ticket game that we don't already know about. I'd personally be excited for any info on SW2 versions of games like The Witcher 3, any of the Doom games, or Persona 5...and if The Outer Wilds gets a SW2 version, that would immediately make the direct a 10/10.
For new games, it would be cool to see Microsoft share their plans for the system, and the Halo collection would be great. I probably will not be interested in COD, but it would be good to get something confirmed.
I'd love to play Expedition 33, or Blue Prince, really any new Indie title that skipped the Switch.
If GTA6 was announced, that would be a huge deal - not a game that I'm interested in, but it would be very good for the system.
I’ll be watching but I’m not necessarily pumped for it. Really wanted to see what was on the first party front. I can’t really think of anything that’ll excite me other than maybe some cool exclusive or two. RE1 or 0 remake would be pretty sweet. I think there were murmurs of those being remade so maybe now’s the time to reveal for a 2027 release window.
@FishyS Infinity Nikki would definitely get some eyes! And, yeah, I highly doubt Palia is getting a native Switch 2 port yet, but I'm not gonna let that darn sense of realism keep me from coping! 😂
Oh right, I forgot about Switch 2 editions when making my predictions. Don't know what games but I think there'll be a segment comparable to the one in the September general Direct which had Switch 2 editions of One Piece Pirate Warriors 4, Overcooked 2, Stardew Valley and Human Fall Flat.
I just came up with 2 things that I would like to see on the direct and I think those 2 have a decent chance of being there
LocoRoco collection and Lumines Arise
@rallydefault I would be pretty happy with a Witcher 3 update, would be pretty rad to see.
I think that you’re right about Elden Ring / Duskbloods. I would love an Elden Ring “available today“ announcement, but with a game that’s that big, they’ll probably want to give it a marketing push. I’m excited to see what’s coming while trying to temper expectations. Hopefully the rumored regular direct is also coming.
Switch 1 is winding down and lots of third parties are clearly going "Oh s*** we need to get on that", much like they did with Switch 1, and so lots of late ports.
Also I need to rub my eyes, did I actually see Pragmata and RE9 at 60fps on a Nintendo system?
Now Playing: Mario & Luigi Brothership, Sonic x Shadow Generations
Now Streaming: The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom
Fallout 4 in today's direct look downgraded and like it could run on switch 1, but it's only on switch 2. Maybe someone didn't get a switch 2 dev kit.
edit: Watched the trailer again, there's almost no grass in the switch 2 version. Looks strangely downgraded, and well beneath Switch 2's power. I hope they fix that by the time it releases.
Looking Back on my guesses: X- wrong / $- right on the money (🤣)
Something about the Resident Evil trio $
Something about Pragmata $
Something about Eldin Ring X
Something about Indiana Jones $
Something about Call of Duty X
Something about The Duskbloods X
Something about Final Fantasy VII Rebirth $
Something about Adventure of Elliot $
Dragon Quest 12? X
Something about Monster Hunter Stories 3 $
Maybe Blue Prince X
6 out of 11 guesses correct for me 😀.
My top 5 favorite games:
1: Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1
2: Pokémon Violet
3: Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
4: The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening (2019)
5: Animal Crossing New Horizons
Mario Maker 2 Maker ID: MNH-8JB-PKG
Switch Username: Blanc
Loads for me here. Digimon finally arrives, Kyoto Xanadu, Elliot and FF7 Rebirth early Summer, Pragmata looks interesting, Orbitals...
There's simply too many games for me on Switch 2. So I rate it as a pretty great direct - it was just lacking in mindblowing announcements (e.g. Halo).
Glad I didn't watch the Direct.
I never like the AAA games, will never like them.
I saved my time by playing my games backlog.
Monster Hunter Stories 3?
I will get the PS5 version, enough with the BS game key card on Switch 2 version.
Man, no Blue Prince or Marvel Rivals? I'm honestly surprised. Anyways, certainly a lot of good stuff, even though the only thing I personally am interested in is HKS2E.
I had very low expectations for this Direct and got exactly that. So all good . Surprised that no Duskbloods, Metaphor, Expedition 33 and Elden Ring appeared. I guess we will have main Direct pretty soon
I'm definitely happy with the Partner Showcase. It was nice seeing a release date for Rebirth, Elliot and Indiana Jones. I'll also definitely download the Pragmata and MH Stories 3 demos. Console Archives is cool, bringing back the good days of Virtual Console.
That said, some glaring omissions like Elden Ring makes it feel like there's a general Direct around March/April.
