Not that much there for me personally but a solid presentation nontheless. FFVII: Rebirth looks really good on Switch 2 and Pragmata is beginning to intrigue me...might have to try the demo.
I'm not interested in any of the Bethesda games but I have to say it made for quite a nice end to the Direct.
The fact the Goemon collection doesn't include the N64 games makes me wonder if the already-localized games are coming to NSO eventually or if they'll make a separate collection for them (even if there would be two repeats from the announced collection).
I didn't watch the partner showcase, but I did see a few videos from the YouTube playlist that Nintendo made. Upon looking at it, there's a few noteworthy game announcements, but as I expected, there's not a lot I'm interested in. The only thing I'm happy to see is the upgrade pack for Disney Dreamlight Valley, and that was part of the sizzle reel. Oh well... hopefully we'll see a regular old Nintendo Direct next time.

Ask if you want to be Switch friends with me, but I'd like to know you first. Thanks! ❤️
Bethesda Softworks (3) - Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Capcom (3) - Resident Evil Requiem, Pragmata, Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflections
Bandai Namco (3) - Tales of Arise: Beyond the Dawn Edition, Digimon Story: Time Stranger, Captain Tsubasa 2: World Fighters
Square Enix (3) - Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjo
2K (2) - WWE 2K26, PGA Tour 2K25
Konami (2) - Super Bomberman Collection, eFootball Kick-Off!
So unless I miscounted, looks like Bethesda, Capcom, Bandai Namco, and Square Enix got the most showcase for February 2026's Partner Direct, unless you count Konami's Japan-exclusive Power Pros and Goemon releases, in which case they'd have 4.
I guess it's because people have moved on to wishing for Metaphor and Clair Obscure, but I can't believe no one is talking about or seems to care that we're finally getting Tales of Arise. I am so excited to finally get to play that (although I do still need to get Xillia, too).
The direct was about what I expected. I have a feeling that there's a general direct happening soon.
I'm happy to see a release date for Final Fantasy, it's great timing. If they can port that game over, I'm not concerned about 3rd party games coming. Indiana Jones is another that I'm looking forward to picking up. I may snag the bomberman collection, I've always enjoyed those games. Lastly, the new Turok game is on my radar - I used to love that series...and being able to go at it in multiplayer, it could be a good time. The direct met my expectations.
Okay Indiana Jones and the Great Circle is actually a good pickup, I do like Indiana Jones and I've heard good things about this game. If there's nothing else to play this year I might consider it.
The fact the Goemon collection doesn't include the N64 games makes me wonder if the already-localized games are coming to NSO eventually or if they'll make a separate collection for them (even if there would be two repeats from the announced collection).
I would be all over a re-release of Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon, that was the first game I ever played. Sad that it seems to be excluded, but I've heard that Japan isn't as big on that release and they like the more linear 2D Goemon games so that may be a factor. But IDK, considering how beloved games like Mario 64, Mario Odyssey, and OoT are, maybe it'll find second life with a re-release. I don't really trust Konami to go through with it though.
That was an alright Direct. Ending on Bethesda ports was... something I guess. Although I was FULLY expecting it to end on Call of Duty so I guess Oblivion Remastered is better.
Rebirth is coming much sooner than expected, and looks great.
There was quite a few 3rd party ports I thought might show up that didn't though - Blue Prince, Metaphor, E33, Death Stranding, Halo, etc. I'm sure we'll see them in due time though!
Overall though there's plenty of 3rd party titles launching over the next few months, and I'm absolutely ECSTATIC for RE Requiem and Pragmata.
Duskbloods makes more sense on a first party direct because of the exclusivity but Elden Ring still not having a release date could point to a bigger issue
I’m of the belief that a major 1st party game is coming this holiday, and that they’ll wanna reveal sooner than the former E3 timeframe so that it can have a hype cycle of longer than 4-5 months. My prediction is that they’ll do this by either:
A) a bigger than normal Mar10 day where the big game (something Mario related in this case) is announced, followed by a full general direct in June at the earliest. Or:
B) A general direct in April (perhaps setting a new precedent of 2 general directs a year in April/September?) which reveals most of the second half of 2026, including the big holiday exclusive.
I dunno if this will end up being notably great examples of them, but people actively unenthused for niche Japanese games are lame as heck. Especially after years of Unreal Engine Game Awards games that are all the same 3 games, the over the top soccer game series and the 2d game that randomly turns into 3d action combat for some reason and literally anything murder mystery focused are wildly interesting compared to at least 2/3 of the western AAA video game industry.
Admittedly I also think this Direct not choosing a ton of slop that sums up an increasing amount of AAA game companies means I might've been kinder to it then say, 5 years ago when the pre-release Ps5 events made me somewhat excited for this gen until I realized these companies preferred layoffs over video games.
Also helps that I have no attachment to Nintendo being at its most successful, since again, that is actually bad for us tbh, so if we get cooler games than AAA slop and Nintendo is forced to be less greedy by underwhelming general audiences...GREAT. Best case scenario tbh. (more realistically, bigger games are coming later)
