@FishyS
Was also a Mario Party game released a couple of weeks before, outside of Japan at least. And while it's not quite Mario & Luigi they did have Paper Mario Colour Splash in a similar window also
Yeah, doesn't mean much but it's still a fun little theory. Probably more just a case of these are the sorts of announcements, releases and schedules that just tend to make sense at this point in the console cycle

Seriously almost everyone just tells us that -This week it will happen! for years now. They gets wrong for every weeks and repeats it until they "gets right" and tells us -What wa sit I said!?
This is so incredibly tiresome now.
Pyorocokonoko or what the hell he/she were called which everyone blindly trust everything what the fraud said, claimed during the spring this year that Nintendo 100% will reveal their next console in just days aaaaaaand here we are now just some days shy from entering nov-2024...
Nintendo will reveal it when they does it.
It's incredibly by how stubborn many people are even if they got wrong for 128th time! It's 100& obvious now that they won't reveal it before 2025 like I always had said. Switch still sells extremely well now. The sales of PS2 during its 8th year is not even close to the sale of Switch by many times again and again. I wouldn't gets surprised if Switch sold more than PS5 during this year.
Reveal in jan-march, release in may-sept.
The current state of the world is so horrible now, and it only worsens for every day, so that's not impossible that it gets delayed then.
Im just here believing it’ll be March 2025, the end of the financial year so Nintendo can get the stock boost before their end of year shareholders meeting.

I wonder if you are self aware enough to realise that you are doing precisely what you accuse others of doing here. You're saying, quite litterally, that it's "100% obvious" that it's not revealing before 2025. What insider information do you have to know this? None. You're just guessing. Being contrarian and pessimistic is not the same as being realistic or level headed. Sometimes the news is positive
What we do know for certain at this point is that Nintendo intends to announce new hardware within the next 5 months. In the console of the Switch's lifespan that's VERY soon no matter how you slice it. We also know without a shadow of a doubt that they are currently manufacturing that new hardware. And I can't see them stockpiling this thing for a whole year. This isn't some theoretical thing, it's happening, probably in the first half of next year. I think that alone is enough to put heavy doubt on your pessimistic projections

PS5 outsold the Switch last year and continues to outsell it this year. Obviously Switch only competes with PS5 in this manufactured "console wars" bit which means nothing. What actually matters are total sales..... but it's also significantly down year on year and has been on that trajectory for a few years now
Me saying this isn't an attempt to diminish the success of the Switch, it's merely a statement of fact. Platforms tend to do this over time. This argument you are putting forward here had some merit a few years ago, I'll give you that, but it has no merit now. And we know it has no merit now because, well, they're announcing new hardware within the next 5 months and are already making units

Unless you can point to evidence as to why one war or another or some other political turmoil is impacting the manufacture of this toy then there really isn't any need to invoke world troubles here. If anything I would argue that the fact that the world is as it is means there's value in some form of escapism. And if that escapism involves posting memes about the hype train and our bodies being Reggie? Then so be it. More power to us
The Switch 2 is going to be revealed this week during the NSO playtest. If you factor in an audience of 10000 people, Nintendo themselves saying they are always looking at different ways to communicate news and...ok I'll sit down. I still have no idea what the playtest is lol.
I can only go from console data in Japan because it's more transparent, but in it's final years, the PS2 was selling between 500 and 1000 units a week. The Switch is still >50k! Now granted, sales do plummet once new hardware is announced. We've seen this time and again with people waiting or people buying before a price increase etc. I simply don't get why they would announce something and have that 50K (which in the holidays is more than four times that) tank. There maybe a disparity between the West and Japan but between the two, Nintendo will prioritise the latter.

@VoidofLight SO they could theoretically have an announcement like Fortnight or something hahaha. A Switchfest if you will. Could potentially be a 'you had to be there' moments.
@Grumblevolcano It was already announced we'd be getting more info about it for October, so now that this is posted there isn't really anything we know they will post (I mean we could guess potential Brothership countdown stuff and probably some random Fortnite stuff). I think a new console reveal this week is still possible, unless Wednesday comes and goes without the reveal, then I will start thinking it's next year. (and continue to question how Nintendo handled the seemingly intentional absence of the September Direct)
@FragRed It's because of daylight savings, the US doesn't change their clocks back until November 3rd so regions that changed it back on October 27th see NoA's tweets an hour earlier than usual (e.g. a 2pm UK time tweet becomes a 1pm UK time tweet).
As for Pocket Camp, when they announced the closure they said there'd be more info in October about transferring to a paid version. Might be a side effect of that "Stop Killing Games" thing that's gaining ground in the EU.
@Grumblevolcano Oh I didn’t realise the U.S. changed their clocks at a different date to us.
Welp, today’s out. Just tomorrow and Wednesday to go until we can sit back and twiddle our thumbs and fingers and going “doo doo doo” until next year.

I still think it's February reveal and Nintendo going into the meeting with only 4 upcoming games isn't a problem because it happened back in May's meeting (and has happened with some meetings before then too):
May 23rd - TTYD
June 27th - LM2 HD
TBA 2025 - Pokemon Legends Z-A
TBA - Metroid Prime 4
This time it's:
November 7th - Mario & Luigi Brothership
January 16th - DKC Returns HD
TBA 2025 - Pokemon Legends Z-A
TBA 2025 - Metroid Prime 4
The difference between these 2 meetings are that the previous one was in May, which had a Direct the month after. The Direct was even announced at the meeting, along with the Switch Successor announcement announcement. That doesn’t seem like the case with this meeting at all, and if we were getting a Direct it likely would’ve happened in September.
Fwiw, Kit & Krysta, who claim to have worked on the Switch launch strategy, dont see this week as the optimal time to reveal a new console, primarily due to proximity to Christmas shopping season and the US election (also bear in mind the election they've just had in Japan too). K&K reckon quarterly investor meetings are not a consideration at Nintendo for something as major as a new console launch. They don't rule out announcement this week, but they're both in Team 2025:
...I'm firmly on the side of it being too soon for a remaster and they should be working on the sequel right now. But with the fact that this game exists and the other platforms it's been confirmed for, yeah IDK how you could logically conclude it's coming to any Nintendo platform other than Switch 2...
@Bolt_Strike They stated when it was announced that Yooka Laylee's sequel is and has been in active development, and hinted that a lot of the work on this came from that game. It's not like they're doing this instead. Not sure if it's needed either lol, but it's not an either-or.
