@RygelXVIII there certainly are a lot of realistic action games for PS5 and Xbox, but limited creativity? It seems you haven't actually played any of them. FF16 and 7 rebirth are far more creative and interesting than most of Nintendo's Switch library. "Creative" doesn't mean "wacky" or "cartoon". It's okay to not like realistic artstyles though, that's just personal preference.
@FishyS While PS5 looks like it's selling well- (it's definitely selling more than Xbox), it's still selling no-where near the levels that the PS4 hit. Most people who own a PS4 still have yet to upgrade to the PS5.

@RygelXVIII Final Fantasy has always had a blend of realism in it's style. Ever since Final Fantasy 8, with Final Fantasy 9 being the primary exception. This isn't really anything new, and Rebirth isn't either- given that it's a stylistic realization of Final Fantasy XIII's CG and X's CG.

As a relevant side point, these consoles are much cheaper than gaming PCs
Huge asterisk on this. There are certainly downsides to PC gaming especially with modern titles that offen suffer from shader compilation issues. But I wouldn't say PC gaming is more expensive. It certainly can be if you crank up the sliders on your spec, something that isn't possible for consoles, but it's not a requirement
I think I can confidently say that at this moment you could buy a PC with comparable specs to the PS5 for less than the PS5. And then save money by getting cheaper games and avoiding the monthly subscription. Obviously people don't do that and go for like 4070+ with i7s and whatnot, because the possibility of higher specs is what sets PCs apart, but you don't have to do that

@skywake Yeah, price-wise I really meant 'off the shelf PC (e.g. best buy) where games runs at least as well as on PS5' versus PS5. Or PC versus Switch for that matter. You can always build your own PC of course, but an advantage of consoles is you just buy it and (for a given price) it is super simple no-thought required and fairly cheep. Even comes with controllers. To get a cheap PC which does precisely what you want usually requires thought. Which is also a reason a parent might get their child a PS5 versus a gaming PC... assuming the child didn't also simply need a PC.
That leaves the 18th and 20th the most likely options.
Any reason you are ruling out the 19th? It was Wednesday last year, so June 19th would effectively be the same day as it was last year (same week of June and same day of week).
I've been assuming it will be the 20th simply because that is the worst day in June it could possibly be for me. 😆 But the 19th would be nice.
@FishyS 19th is a US Holiday I believe, which Nintendo probably will try to avoid.
A holiday seems perfect for a direct — people wouldn't be at work or school so they could actually watch it. The 20th is the solstice which is also a holiday in some places.
@FishyS A holiday would be a great time to do it, but I believe Nintendo of America is closed that day so Nintendo may not want to do that, especially if something is being shadow-dropped.
@PikminMarioKirby hmm... I suppose that might explain the unusual Tuesday time if it's on the 18th. I have an all-day 2-day long work thing on the 20th/21st so I may have to wait 2 days to watch if it's on the 20th 😑
@Anti-Matter I'm not sure if Indonesia is a big enough market for Nintendo to try to avoid a local holiday for? I could be wrong and don't know the sales numbers so I suppose they might? 🤔
@FishyS
Yeah, I was mostly pushing back against the idea that it's somehow super expensive compared to consoles which really isn't the case. Especially when you consider the fact that people often need to get a PC for other purposes anyways. PC gaming can be very cheap indeed
There's certainly a lot more to consider and a lot of people just aren't savvy enough to work it all out. But the same is kinda true for console gaming also just.... at a different tier....
It'd be like judging the cost of console gaming by adding up the price of a PS5 and then a PS5 Pro plus a PSVR and of course a TV that could do 120Hz/4k and surround sound and....
Basically picked 16 entirely unconfirmed things that I thought were in theory possible and/or somewhat likely and then just randomly sorted them. Some I think are fairly unlikely, some are certainly not going to happen together. And the odds of me getting all of them are definitely 0. But hey, where's the fun in doing a Direct Bingo without some wild guesses?

Wind Waker HD, Twilight Princess HD, and Metroid Prime 2-3, all seem very likely candidates, and I would give my left ear to get a new Wario Land entry!
I decided I'd create a joke bingo card based on that the past 8 months have been almost nothing but Mario.
