I reckon the direct will happen in wednesday.

Destiny, justice and retribrution will be mine.

There is no way some magazine is going to have details on a big new game before it was officially revealed unless it's some indie title. Maybe 10, 15 years ago they could have got the scoop but now now in the age of the internet where even big news websites struggle to get such exclusives. The marketing and revealing of games has changed so much now days that a lot of it relies on social media.

@FragRed why is'nt there an online british unofficiall magazine these day's?i know there is not many print one's except EDGE.

Ninfan

FragRed

@Ninfan You mean like Eurogamer or Nintendo Life/Push Square or Pure Xbox? EDGE is owned by Future Publishing which used to be a giant in the world of magazines both here in the UK and the US. However they were incredibly slow in the move over to online and as a result they have struggled to remain relevant. A large number of their magazines, especially in the gaming scene, has been shut down and all the online gaming sites they once owned now forward themselves to Games Rader which is Future Publishing's attempt to compete with the likes of IGN, GamesSpot, Eurogamer, Nintendo Life, Push Square, Pure Xbox etc etc.

@FragRed Release timings. If there's a digital game or DLC releasing in late August, an unannounced retail game releasing in late October or an already announced retail game releasing receiving a September release date that had an E3 2020 Direct spot then a Direct in September would be too late for it.

For example, if the July 20th Partner Showcase didn't happen, Cadence of Hyrule DLC and Rogue Company promo would've been too late.

@Grumblevolcano I guess that makes sense though if its anything like the last one, nothing shown will be releasing any time too soon anyway.

Over the course of 24 hours people in this thread have gone from there will be a direct Next week to it’s not gonna be full direct and now there’s gonna be multiple directs.

Sooo... they're already backtracking on the Direct rumours. Now it's September. lol

I think all that's happening is these "insiders" get very incomplete and unsure information, and don't want any of it being presented as fact, because then they'll look bad if it turns out to be wrong.

I'm still going with the assumption there's a proper Direct this week. We've already had the Nindies and the third party Directs. All that really remains is the first party stuff.

@damien33ad I’m just laughing at how quickly opinions and predictions are changing.

@Dezzy This is why I'm saying that I don't think there is a direct on the 28th. More likely on Wednesday or thursday.

Destiny, justice and retribrution will be mine.

Grumblevolcano

Nintendo won't have a Direct on Thursday because of Gamescom Opening Night Live.

@Grumblevolcano they’re not supposed to be there though. A direct that week could explain why

@Blooper987 No 1st party stuff but there will likely be 3rd party Switch announcements. Last year's Gamescom Opening Night Live for example had the release date for Witcher 3.

Both big Switch announcements at Game Awards 2019 were also 3rd party releases (Bravely Default II, No More Heroes III).

My friend who has a friend who told him who told me that the direct was on for end of July. Then he told him who told me that it was end of August.
Now it’s been told to him who told me. It’s September.
He might just be right although the was wrong in the past but that doesn’t matter.

So at what point does Coivd stop being an acceptable excuse?

In all forms of business setbacks are common and this is when good leadership comes into play to adapt to the situation. It’s been a 6+ months and other industries which have been harder hit but have started bouncing back and the likes of Sony and Microsoft have managed to do Direct style presentations so I don’t think the excuse can keep being applied to Nintendo forever.
