Topic: Next Nintendo Direct?

@Dezzy @mariomaster96 Cannot wait for another 12 months of no General Directs from Nintendo and everything being minis, partner showcases and shadow drops.

I know Jeff Grubbs says first party titles will need to be revealed before 16th September because that's when the management Briefing Sessions takes place, but it is Nintendo has stated that no new products, services will be announced at it which could also mean they won't say anything before it either. Besides they do have something - Pikmin 3 Deluxe, so they could bat away any questions concerning the first party lineup even if it isn't very strong.

It is odd however that we know nothing about what's happening with the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service in September. Are they going to add anything like a new system or is it just going to remain as the NES and SNES? They can barely get games out for these two as it is, would not surprise me if Nintendo has lost interest and moved on to pushing the service through the use of titles like Tetris 99 and it's own first party titles.

Amazon lists a Sonic Mania + Team Sonic Racing Double Pack for the Switch, which hasn't been officially announced yet (I think):

But I don't think this has anything to do with a possible Direct, cause why would they announce that there

@mariomaster96 They wouldn't announce it in the Direct, it will be just randomly tweeted by Sega and/or Nintendo and that will be that. It is a real odd pairing though. Surely it makes more sense to double up Mania and Forces as those are linked, but Sonic Team Racing is such a totally different kind of game.

Probably beyond time for that Disco Elysium port to be officially announced, after Zaum already admitted in an interview it was being worked on. Beyond that, I have no idea what might be coming our way. Like everyone else, I’d love to know more about BotW2 and Metroid Prime 4 - but we already know those are in development. I would love to hear about some genuine new titles. But a Direct is rarely disappointing. Hope Friday lives up to the hype.

@Krull lol I was trying to lighten the mood so im glad it worked 😁. Ill be happy with anything 1st party related this go round. So odds are ill be happy considering we we haven't had much first party news in a while outside of PM:TOK. Donkey kong country, zelda, metroid or mario all would be a nice solid win for me.

Nintendo are going to be on the naughty list for not giving us a normal direct. HO HO HO!

Nintendo has always been naughty. This year is no exception lol.

Even if the Direct happened on next week, i don't even care with Yada Yada Yada Zelda games.
I watch the Direct for another unpopular games that caught my attention.

@damien33ad Cannot wait for 8 minutes of FIFA 21 Legacy Edition, Bakugan (thanks @Krull I wiped that game from my mind lol) and Yoshi's Cookie which will be September's SNES game.

When are we getting Urban Champion HD though?

The Mass Effect collection has been hinted at by like 5 different sources so far this year. Maybe that's gonna be revealed in the Direct.

@Dezzy EA Already revealed all 8 or whatever the number was games for Switch coming out before next June, so probably not.

@Dezzy I think Mass Effect Trilogy will be announced at Gamescom Opening Night Live for PS4/XB1/PC.

@link3710 Yep and even Jeff Grubbs has said it’s not likely to happen for the Switch, though I think he’s one of the ones that had initially said it would. So, yeah... keeps saying something different to make sure he could never be wrong.

Yeah that sounds more likely actually. It's not really a Nintendo audience kinda thing, so it wouldn't really make sense to aim it first on Nintendo.

Now I want The Legend of Zelda: Yada Yada Yada...

This would be a day one purchase for me! But I really doubt it will happen as @link3710 said, the 7 or 8 games EA said are coming to switch this year have all been confirmed...unless they intentionally excluded this as they knew it wouldn't be confirmed for a while?

1) EA already listed the games they're bringing
2) Last time ME Trilogy came out, Nintendo got one entry
3) Mr GrubbHubb already said in February of 2019 that it would be announced in July of... 2019
4) After the salty "fans" set their parents' basements on fire over Andromeda, EA hasn't done anything with the IP

As much as I love the entirety of the ME universe, it's about as likely as a Mother 3 localization.
