Okay, so I'm moving out of the family house soon and i won't be having the switch come with, i have an online subscription and cloud saved everything. I don't think I'll be getting a switch for awhile so I'm wondering, if i remove my profile/account from the switch in the house, when i get my own again will i be able to restore my saved data if i still have my online subscription and reconnect my account or will i lose it all? and for games that don't cloud save (like onigiri) are they connected and saved to your account or will i have to restart that too?

@ArtyOcean4 I am pretty sure you will be able to get all your saves back - so long as you don't let your subscription expire. I assume there is some grace period, so if you forget to renew they don't instantly delete everything, but don't rely on that. Best bet is to transfer everything at your earliest convenience.

if you keep your subscription, it shouldn't be any issue for games that use the cloud.

But if you do let the subscription lapse, here's the official word from Nintendo :
"If a Nintendo Switch Online membership expires, users won’t be able to access their Save Data Cloud backups. However, Nintendo will allow users who resubscribe within 180 days to access their previous Save Data Cloud backups."

If you want to retain your save data from games that don't use the cloud, you can leave your account on the Switch it's on now and transfer it and your save data later when you get your own. Otherwise, yes, for those games that don't use the cloud, you'd need to restart.

@Cotillion That's a helpful answer. I was wondering how one knows what games support the cloud before getting them. Off the top of my head Splatoon 2 doesn't but I'm sure that there are others, unfortunately.
