Surprised there's not a thread for this yet. Nonetheless, I wanted to start one since I couldn't find one and had a question. Aside from color of the vehicle, will there be any other ways to customize your vehicle? I've played for about 2 hours and haven't been able to change anything yet or make my own vehicle which is what I loved about underground back in the day.
Either way, I love this game. It's so exhilarating zipping around at 175+ mph.
It could be for some games you must clear specific trials to get certain skins or cars or modifications that you can do or make. So unless this was a DLC they might have you require purchasing them to use it if they have it.
Actually wondering the same question... I grew up with NFSU and NFSU2, which later Most Wanted become one of my top played games on the Gamecube.
I'm also a few hours into Hot Pursuit and find the lack of "owning" your own vehicle a disappointing. I can live without the open world, but growing in your career and building memories with your own created cars is what I loved about the series.
Will we be stuck with fixed selection of cars each mission?
@Bankaj not sure. I havent played in a few days but I assumed all NFS would be customizable like underground was so I bought this. Still having fun though. Just want that progression factor.
There's still paint jobs and liveries/sticker packs, but no customization to car parts other than that.
To me personally, not that surprising. Few Need for Speed games since the reboot on Xbox 360 had customization such as in the Underground series. And that series was specifically about tuning and customization, so no surprises there either.
@NintendoByNature Oh, it's a great game, alright. And there'll be plenty of nice things coming your way, once you progress, so not being able to tune cars is going to be the least of your worries, trust me.

@ThanosReXXX All the Need for Speed games released since this one originally came out in 2010 have had tuning/customization, wasn't limited to the Underground series of games.
Edit: excluding The Run, all the other 6 have though.
Been playing this again on the Switch after getting to 100% on the PS4/5 last month. Though it shows its age in a couple spots but it's still a gem of an arcade racer!
I'm enjoying it, it's certainly a bit more forgiving than GRID Autosport but I'm finding the rubberbanding a bit bizarre.
Seems impossible to get in front and get a lead, yet if you drop massively behind you always seem able to catch a few cars at least. (Or am I playing it wrong?)
An observation, not a complaint. It keeps the races tight and tense.
@redd214 Really? Never noticed any extensive tuning, at least not to the extent of in Underground. All I ever did was paint jobs and liveries. Oh, well. Goes to show how much attention to detail I have, when it comes to certain games. I just wanted to race...

@Mii_duck you're definitely not wrong there. The rubberbanding in this one can be a bit maddening at times but the game is easy enough that's its not as huge of a deal as some other titles.
@ThanosReXXX the Underground games didn't really have "tuning" persay. Moreso just unlock a higher level part, slap it on and watch your stat bar go higher. A few of the more recent ones had more extensive tuning as in you can play with gear ratios, stances, engine swaps, traction control and other car nerd bits. Obviously not on the level of GT or Forza but certainly more than the UG games. Still wish there was a convenient way to play those nowadays as they were some of the best in the series!
@ThanosReXXX you're definitely confused somewhere man lol. NFS Underground 1 and 2 were from the PS2/Xbox days and none of the 12 Original Xbox and 360 NFS games are available for back compact on Xbone/Series boxes.
Only way to play the Underground games is to hunt down a working copy of the games and a ps2/Xbox or mess with emulators on the pc, neither of which is something I'd do at this point. Would love to play them again but not pressing enough for all that.
Picked this game up (physical copy, brand new and shrink wrapped) just before, came home and put it in the machine.
The game doesn't get much past accepting the terms and conditions before I'm met with "The software was closed because an error occured" message on the screen. It's happening at the same bit time and again. I've closed the software and reset the console a few times and it's still happening.
Is it the game or is it the console with the problem?
Thanks for the help guys. Went to all the trouble of going to exchange it, but it turns out the game wasn't faulty - turned off cross play and voila - game works haha. The positive is I milked two lots of gold rewards points out of the purchase of one game.
