Hello!
Would like to take your opinion which of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe or Splatoon 3 is a better game/multiplayer game. I only have Super Smash Bros Ultimate as a multiplayer, would like to add another title as such.
Cheers to all.

@guardianoftime Personally I've gotten a lot more mileage out of Splatoon as an online multiplayer game and mostly like Mario Kart for a bit of local multiplayer but I don't think either is necessarily better than the other. Both are very good games so it just comes down to whether you feel like playing a third person shooter or a kart racer.

@guardianoftime Both are great but it depends on what exactly you are after. Couch co-op, aggressive competitive online shenanigans, playing with one or more mates from the comfort of your respective beds?

Mario Kart is Mario Kart one of the most fun games available to play and fits most of the descriptions I mentioned above whilst Splatoon requires more skill to play so it’s not for people who are sore losers but I greatly prefer Splatoon 3 to Mario Kart myself.

If you do want Splatoon 3 it's better to get it sooner rather than later so you can take part in the splatfests and big runs events which have a year or two left of (probably) being supported.

I’ll get both at some point, but I’m wondering which to get first. I think Splatoon is a better bet being the newer game and it would complement my Switch Splatoon 3 edition greatly

Local or online multiplayer?

If it's online, I imagine you can't go wrong wither either MK8 or S3.

But if you're playing local multiplayer I would suggest games such as Diablo III, Very Very Valet, Lovers In A Dangerous Space Time, TMNT: Shredder's Revenge, Overcooked, and Runbow.

@Magician got TMNT in my wish list as well. But it’s mainly online I’m looking into

@guardianoftime I love both MK8 and Splatoon. For online multiplayer, I would recommend getting into Splatoon 3 now. This first two years of Splatoon 3 is when Nintendo will be bringing the hype, rolling out new content for the game on a quarterly basis, and holding Splatfests (splatfest weekends are great!). This is the most exciting time to experience the game.

And you might end up liking Splatoon's single player. I personally, love the single player. I got Splatoon 2 for the single player, but ended up liking the weapons & mechanics so much that I ended up getting into the online turf war. And, later, as I got more advanced, I got into Salmon Run (Salmon Run deals out it's weapons kind of randomly, so you'll have to be proficient with the different weapon types and their roles in the mode. Weapon types: rollers, shooters, shoshers (bucket), charger(sniper rifle).

So yeah, I say get Splatoon 3 first.
