Played MHGU last night, since there's soooo many Quests I haven't done. Fought Silver Rathalos and really enjoyed it.
Movement was more rigid, and you could get knocked down by even even slightest brush against the monster, but it was fun as heck. Kept trying to wirefall though, to no avail lol.
Then I played Rise, Hunted Apex Arzuros event quest, and really appreciated how smooth Rise is by comparison.
Nonetheless, I had a blast in MHGU, and after the 3.0 update content gets exhausted, I may go back to MHGU and finish every quest in the game.

@mr_somewhere Dude everything you've said is perfectly spot on to what I've been saying in previous posts since release on this site. Perfectly. I do though have a few pointers I've learned to help increase the chances of finding REAL hunters when searching online. Maybe this will help you, too.
When searching for Lobbies change the 'Quest Type' to "Hunting/Slaying". This increases the chance of finding lobbies with players that actually hunt. Also, go for the lobbies that have at least a HR 100 host/players or higher (200+ even better) so that can really increase the odds of finding the real core MH players. The higher the HR makes a big difference when separating the "casual/get it over with so I can go back to my CoD" players to the real MH players that play for the fun of the hunt. I tend to find that unfortunately the lower the HR the more likely they're just rushing through for rewards and find the actual gameplay just the busy work for those rewards. It's unfortunate too cause in previous MH games (Tri, MH4U, MHGU) I really enjoyed helping lower HR players for whatever they needed. I have little to no desire to do that in Rise because this 'new' breed of players play the game like its a chore to get it over with for those rewards. Rinse and repeat.
Now I gotta say though this method of searching isn't perfect by a long shot. If you find a good hunting lobby, it's not full, and they select the 'Join Request' when posting a quest the whole thing is pointless and ruined because a rando(s) join and just go for the capture no matter what. It's really upsetting because it defeats the purpose if we're going to let randos in!! I also really hate it because that prevents potential real MH players from joining the quest FROM the lobby like it should be. That's why I never choose the 'Join Request' when I'm with real hunters. If I'm lucky enough I find lobbies where they don't do that either. Then its awesome for hours worth of hunts. Also, if I'm in a "Hunting/Slaying" room and there's a lot of captures happening I give it about 3 quests. If captures keep happening I ask what's the deal the Type says Hunting/Slaying and then usually leave to search some more.
Another thing to do is be sure to favorite any mutual "Likes" players that you come across in these good lobbies. You can find them a lot easier and they can find you. As I do this more quite a few of us find each other often.
One last thing I did is disable that annoying as hell blue capture icon as what @JaxonH said to do. I hate it so much and not seeing it really made a difference. I got so damn tired of having a good hunt, seeing it pop up, and then my brain switches to a weird waiting period to see who's going to be that ***** to start dropping traps and just standing by it. It doesn't though disable the flashing monster icon on the map. That isn't the biggest deal because most times the player icons cover it and it's something not easily noticed as quickly as the bright neon Las Vegas sign of that blue icon.
I hope this helps you some because it does help me to enjoy the game as its meant to be more. If you do what I said above you may come across me (hunter name same as on here). As you read on here you're not alone with these troubles. Unfortunately the way this game is set up you have to work more to find those real MH players.
Ok, we know what tomorrow's update will entail now thanks to a leak.
The final boss will be Narwa and Ibushi at the same time, in a new arena added into the game for this final showdown. Apex Zinogre confirmed. Crimson Glow Valstrax confirmed. It is a subspecies, not just the title for normal Valstrax. It will be red and have have brand new theme. There will be 3 additional monsters also, but the leaker wouldn't confirm which ones. These are beyond the scope of the original ransom leak so it's anyone's guess. But I'm not getting my hopes up- I'm expecting them to all be Apex Monsters. Still, that's 3 additional Apex Monsters at worst, beyond Apex Zinogre. I'll take it. We'll also be getting Apex Rathalos and Apex Diablos in normal Quests, and some type of layered armor for rampage weapons, perhaps similar to World's system adding pieces on. Don't know the det's, only that it will be some type of visual modification for rampage weapons. Also, DLC Pack 3 will release with the update, which releases May 27th. And a new collaboration update is scheduled for June. It's not labeled as Version 4, but we will be getting collabs the following month.

I'm not "relying" on anything. I'm just communicating the information coming from a proven source that was right the last 14 times, and the last half dozen times you questioned it and said "why, that doesn't make sense".
And every time it's been right. And every time, like clockwork, you question it yet again.
Don't ask me why. I don't know why. All I know, is that's what it is.
OBVIOUSLY nothing is ever 100%. Nobody has every claimed with 100% certainty anything. But when they're right every single time, over and over and over again, the probability is up there around 95% chance. At least. Which is well beyond a reasonable doubt. Why anyone would willfully and consistently ignore information that has been proven right over and over and over and over and over and over and over again... is beyond me. You don't have to take it "as fact", but any reasonable person knows how to delineate probabilities based on evidence and historical proportion of accuracy.
It can be proven statistically no person can predict every single thing thus far with 100% accuracy and not have inside information. So knowing they do, why would you disregard it?
With some people, a person could be right 6,459 times in a row and on the 6,460th time, still question, "why are you believing this"... ummm, maybe because they were dead on every single time the last 6,459 times? Is it possible this is the time they're wrong? Sure. It's possible... But highly improbable.

That's excellent news. I didn't want to get my hopes up, but now it seems it's justified. That would put this update on par with 2.0 in terms of content.

If the source is Samus Hunter, chances are that the source isn't to be trusted. They've been piggy backing off other leakers, and the monster hunter stuff is common information for everyone out there, seeing as Capcom got leaked.
If anything, they're just a way to get to the legit leak.

@JaxonH Ah, then that's better. A bunch of people believe Samus Hunter for some reason, due to them getting things like Miitopia on Switch and Monster Hunter Rise right, when they're literally just piggybacking off others.

We’ve seen the Marcus Sellars variety of “leaker” before. Anyone who self proclaims themselves as a “insider-leaker” on Twitter and feeds info to youtubers who buy into it on a weekly basis, is clearly looking for attention and likes the feeling of importance and exclusivity it gives them.
Real leakers hate the attention. They don’t parade their leaker status around in public or on social media, eagerly handing out leaks to any YT who will listen... they stick to themselves, stay low key, and only talk when they’re ready and have something they want to share, which is not that often. Certainly not 3x a week like we see with the frauds seeking attention.
If yall don't remember, about a week or two ago, I was trying to finish the bazel armor set as it goes really well with CB's, I got everything but the legs bc I needed a bazel gem, now if you guys know how this game works (And Most of us do) I couldn't find it on my hunts, I just finish teostra before the big update tomorrow (I'm not saying it comes out tomorrow) and I go Like "What the hell If i'm lucky I will get this damn thing" I'm in the middle of hunting it, and I get the gem, not by cutting the tail, not by carve or cap, I F*** Picked it up off the ground, I hate this game some times and the desire sensor is real 95% sure.
