You don’t know if she’s “egotistical” just because she holds a different opinion. It’s not about “siding with the consumer” or “siding with Nintendo“, because the consumer isn’t always automatically right and Nintendo isn’t always automatically wrong, neither is the consumer always automatically wrong or Nintendo always automatically right. Each individual situation must be analyzed with wisdom. Saying “well she’s not siding with the consumer, aka she’s not siding with ME, so she’s wrong”. There’s no wisdom in taking such a black and white stance.

In your opinion Nintendo’s decision is ridiculous and that’s perfectly fine. Nobody is saying they have lost respect for you because you have a different opinion than they do. But reciprocity is expected in return. You shouldn’t be saying such things about other people just because they have a different opinion than you do, even if you disagree with that opinion.

Learning to state your disagreement without attacking the person you disagree with is a fundamental skill that separates civil human beings from barbarians. You shouldn’t be criticizing the person, you should be criticizing the viewpoint the person holds. There’s a difference. And no matter what happens it should have nothing to do with a basic amount of respect towards everyone, especially those you disagree with.

Maybe she’s genuine, maybe she’s not. I have no opinion on the matter because I’m not familiar with her. But that’s besides the point. Just because somebody is an ambassador doesn’t mean they’re lying in their viewpoint. They could be, but you can’t read minds and neither can I, and accusing somebody of lying without evidence is uncalled for. Lumping all ambassadors into one group and saying they all have to be lying is not a logical response. I think it’s fair to question her authenticity and remain skeptical. That’s a reasonable viewpoint I think. But making an accusation is taking it a step too far.

And I did not call you a barbarian, I said that’s the kind of skill that separates civil human beings from barbarians. Don’t look for offense where there is none. You expect better for me but I am giving you better. I’m explaining why attacking people for having different opposing viewpoints is wrong. I’m explaining to you that that kind of behavior leads to incivility.

Never mind the guy that lies and insults people that he doesn't know because of a simple joke and then quickly edits his posts because his first words show his true colours.

You’re doing the same thing you always do, attack anyone who has a different opinion, make excuses to justify you mocking and ridiculing others who have different opinions, And then look for back pats from like-minded individuals

I’m not a troll, and such an accusation has no weight whatsoever. You can throw random names at the wall to see what sticks, but this one never will. Defending the right of people to have a different opinion without being attacked for it is not trolling. I edit my comment because sometimes when I respond I’ll respond in a more aggressive manner than I intended and so I go back and change it so that I can better articulate what I mean to say. I make no apologies for that.

Because regardless of my opinion on her, attacking her just because she has a different opinion than yours is inexcusable regardless. You don’t know she’s a bad person, you don’t know she’s a narcissist, and just because she’s not siding with “fellow gamers” doesn’t mean she’s wrong. Just as possible that her fellow gamers are the ones who are wrong.

Yeah, it's harder to notice on the newer games, but they all did get small texture improvements similarly to what we had noticed in SM64.

Even the Fludd button prompts that look like game cube buttons, they're higher quality assets compared to the original's, so it's not like they couldn't have changed the shape of the button, it's that they chose not to.

Did you know that baby eels are known as larvae? And they're completely transparent.

@Slowdive What we noticed plus improved texture filtering? I'm not sure, it could just be the upgraded resolution. I think Digital Foundry is much more rigorous than Gamexplain. They'll wait until the game is released, though. What do they mean by remastered cut-scenes? If I render the same cut-scene at higher resolution, does it count as remastered? Remaster sounds more like touching up, to me. I think they are using higher-resolution assets that they already had.

Thanks for sharing. I didn’t realize how much better these games looked until seeing them compared and contrasted with the original versions. Mario 64 looks way better. Even Galaxy has noticeable improvements, though I think just rendering in HD accounts for a lot of it. Still, I’m really impressed with Mario 64. The mind’s eye has a way of remembering games in a better state than they actually were.
