@Qwertyninty Never in my life has every dev or publisher made games for all consoles so I am not quite sure what you meant by that and it will never happen unless you only have one console in existence.

@Tasuki not sure how old you are. There were days when you could expect your favorite third party game to be released on every major console. We might never see those days again but for me it’s not worth spending 250-300 on a console to play one game. It’s sad where the industry is now and how many gamers just except it. If we all could just band together things could be better. We will see what the future holds.

@Qwertyninty Unless you are talking about pre NES days that never happened, which was one reason Nintendo was more successful then Sega. Nintendo made it where games like Contra, Mega Man, TMNT Games etc. Couldn't be made on the Genesis unless those 3rd party companies wanted to deal with Nintendo cutting them off. When the PlayStation came along Square went to Sony and gave them Final Fantasy VII and a host of third party companies followed suit like Konami.

So yeah there has always been deals with third party companies only having game on specific consoles.

@rockodoodle Here's to 2021...or the rumors about Madden not being one of the 7 being wrong.

Yeah, holding a small glimmer of hope for a surprise late year announcement with the new systems. Seriously doubt it, but u never know.

@Tasuki The first 12-18 months of the GameCube generation, it wasn't unusual to see third party games released across all three platforms, though it definitely tapered off as the generation went on.

I distinctly remember one of the Tony Hawk games having a simultaneous release for GCN, PS2, XB and GBA, and that's when people got super into side-by-side comparisons for which console version was best.

Then money-hatting started happening more and more and the GCN's small discs prevented some major releases from happening.
